Singles Outdoor Club
« on: August 25, 2015, 09:56:20 AM »
There are a few SOC walks left this year:

Wednesday 26 August, Ackling Dyke, Salisbury
Thursday 3 September, Sugar Hill, Swindon
Thursday 10 September, Box Hill Maze, Dorking
Wednesday 16 September, Chiltern Scarp, High Wycombe
Thursday 1 October, Mereworth Woods, Maidstone

At present, I am intending to join the walk on 10 September (I have booked the day off) and, possibly the walk at Maidstone on October 1. Is anyone else planning on joining any of the above walks? I have quite a bit of leave left to use by the end of November so could possibly be persuaded to join you...

Have fun,

Ian.

I'm not aware of any equivalent social club organization here in America as these SOC's in the UK.

Anyone here ever heard of anything like that? The ability to just go out on a naked hike with a group of similar minded folks sounds wonderful.

I occasionally check the MeetUp website for this area but nothing ever shows up.

LasVegasBares.com has activities and occasional hotspring trips, as a non-landed club. In amongst the various clubs like this, there is always someone who is up for hiking, just itching for another someone to join in a freerange naturist camping/hiking event. Just contact, stating your intentions about hiking up front. They all prefer females and couples, but if that is the case and your wife isn't interested, I'm sure that someone interested would do an aside. Canyon State Naturists from Phoenix do naturist events like that in the northern part of the state and boat things on your local lakes. You may have to organize something yourself, with the resources. If you can run a scout campout, you can most likely ramrod a group of naked city slickers. They might even obey the laws of the pack, if they're green. ;D

I'm planning to walk on the 10th September as well as the last two dates. I seem to have missed a fair number of the walks so this year for various reasons. I did the Ackling Dyke walk at the end of August, but the last one before that was Weopham Down on the 7th July.

I look forward to seeing you on the 10th.

Hi John thanks for the welcome. When I signed up here I used johnb, and forgot that I used johnbare on the old TSNS site. Had I remembered, I would have signed up with that. I note from browsing other posts that you have now move from the Surrey Hills to new pastures (in Lincolnshire ?) and hope that things are going well for you there.

Meanwhile to get back to the thread topic, the weather forecast for tomorrows SOC walk looks good.

Just as importantly, my notes from last year include the fact that the food (and even more importantly BEER) at the pub were excellent. I'm aiming to arrive by 11:30 to have time for a pint before the off.

Have fun,

Ian.

The final Singles Outdoor Club walk of this year is planned for Thursday 1 October at Mereworth Woods (in Kent, not far from Maidstone.) It's a week away, but the forecast at present is looking kind (16C (61F) and sunny) though you don't want to have too much faith in that this far ahead.

I am still hoping to get a day out of work and will hopefully be there, is anyone else planning on going?

Have fun,

Ian.

Duane, I wrote you a PM because I wasn't finding this thread. There is more info for you there for you. There is also a pertinent question about Las Vegas for my needs. We are looking into doing Black canyon.

I'm planning on going especially as its last walk of the season, so I hope to see you there.

The weather forecast is still looking good for tomorrow and I have just noticed that the pub, where the walkers meet and where we will eat later, makes its' own beer, I am starting to look forward to this one...

Have fun,

I like this, Ian.

They plan their outing with, "We will end up at this pub where there is good BEER and food. Now, what do we want  to do for our outing?"

It's good to have your priorities straight.
That's my kind of club.

All SOC walks start and end at a pub; it is a great way to encourage folks like me to attend (mind you, if they realised that they may rethink their plans  :'()
