Not a Secret Naturist Society refugee!
« on: October 26, 2015, 11:34:50 PM »
Hello all. I've been attracted to the idea of outdoor naturism for many years now, and I've done it in all kinds of circumstances, secret and open, though it’s only when someone else is in charge that I'll reach the "blatant" level! I've also lived on both sides of the Atlantic, so I appreciate the multi-national aspect of this group.

I've visited resorts, but I've never much enjoyed the "factory farmed" style of naturism. It's good to be naked, but it's not so satisfying to know that one is still wearing walls and fences! After a long period of being a lone naturist most of the time—only occasionally finding a person to join up with for hikes or paddles—I feel very fortunate that someone in my area started a nude outdoors group that's been successful for a few years. It has members from several of the New England states (for the geographically challenged, New England is the area of 6 states in the extreme northeast of the USA) and each year we rent a house in Vermont, where laws and attitudes are most tolerant, from which we do day hikes, canoe trips and especially visit any swimming hole that we can find. In 2014, three of us traveled to Austria to join Richard Foley's Naked European Walking Tour, a trip we tell each other we have to repeat. And in England, I've done several walks with the Singles Outdoor Club.

I knew about the Secret Naturist Society, but didn't join. This seems like my kind of group, however, and thanks to Stuart and Karla for getting it going. I'm sorry that I didn’t notice it for a long time, but we have had slight contact in the past--I did post a message on the visitors' page of the old Naked Munros site.

Hello John P,

Hope you will join in.  This Vermont group sounds like a superb way of enjoying naturism combining the safety in numbers tactic with privacy and not having to wear, as you say, the cloak of fencing of a naturist club.

Since you have lots of free range experience I (and I think I can also confidently say 'we') do hope very much you will visit this forum often, chip in to threads and topics and give us the benefit of your comment, opinions and experiences.

John

Thank you for the welcome, Peter and John. I'll try to post material worthy of this fine discussion site. I assume you saw my posting about skirts and kilts for the male naturist (and female ones too, if they cared to do the same).

And I do seem to see a good number of people here with the excellent name John!

Welcome to the forum John! The messages on the naked munros guestbook made the whole thing worthwhile for us. But it's nice now that the forum is taking off. It's great to hear what other people are doing around the world with regard to free range naturism.

Welcome, John P!

On the old site we had a regular participant from your neck of the woods.
Haven't heard from him since the KO!

Dan.
I guess he hasn't found this safe haven of ours.

You've certainly got me wondering who this fascinating person is.
