RIP to Naked Public Dares

The person or persons ( <nervypair@yahoo.com> ) who ran Naked Public Dares has closed the site.  Too much work week after week, they said.

I understand that the last straw was a member who decided that all his submitted pictures should be removed.
The task proved to be so complex that they decided to give up.

I used to look at that site once in a while, though I never joined. JohnGW, did you know the site when it was run by a Dutch guy a few years ago? It was amusing to see what people had to show; there were some very "naturist" bodies out there! (I mean, challenging conventional ideas of which bodies are fit to be seen.) The final message seemed to say that the owners were disappointed that they hadn't managed to attract many women--the eternal problem for naturism.

The way is open for anyone who wants to start a replacement site to go ahead and do it.

If you don't want your photos shared with the world, don't send them to an Internet site for posting.    Maybe someone found out about the site and shared the photos at work at his church.

I shared photos there sometimes, and even went out to take photos in situations that they listed.  It was a game to play while out and about, like Geocaching.  Have a list of Dares and bag as many as you can.

I visited the site a few times and have over the years accomplished a couple of the ones I saw posted.

I was thinking about their statement that they had failed in the attempt to promote a more active participation by women. I have read and understand the general reluctance of women to engage in outdoor nudity, but the lack of participation still puzzles me.

I suppose the old saying of’ “you cannot understand until you walk in those shoes” would apply here. I have no history in the backstory. I have to accept it as is. Solely for personal reasons, I wish it were different.

Bob, I remember from back on the TSNS site a photo that was posted there. Awhile later I saw the same one on another website where the site owner had gathered a group of photos he had found on the internet of what he considered odd pictures. Once you post it, it’s out there and cannot be erased. You’ll just have to deal with it.

I'm not ashamed of myself, Duane.  I'm becoming kind of proud that I've lived so long and am so old and healthy.  The more "exposure" I get the better.  I only post my image on-line because I want people to see and appreciate me.  Humans are all beautiful.

You should be justifiably proud, Bob!  Not only have you reached a time of life, like most of us on FRN, that can be classified as an achievement (are you prepared to reveal your age?) but you have the physique of a super model! (Plus-size, of course) and, your six-pack is very much in evidence... like mine, in a barrel rather than individual tins!! :D :D
If you're healthy, I'm sure the naturist lifestyle will have materially contributed (if 'materially' isn't too textile a word! :) )

Although the NakedPublicDares site is closed, some of it is still available.  If you want to get any ideas, or just check off your own score, at the moment the list of dares is still there: http://nakedpublicdares.com/daresprint.htm

I know that, Bob, And rightly so.  I was commenting on whoever had the foolish notion that you can take back posting anything on the internet.

Being able to stand up and not worry about those kind of consequences must be great.

John - the British expression for those of us who claim to remember the 60's ad 70's is -
"Not so much a six pack, more a party seven"

Size - just over a US gallon

A few years ago I had a friend who really liked Watneys Red Barrel.   Hard to find over here.

Only the British would put BEER in a one gallon can. I love it!  :D
The comedy sketches are unlimited. "But officer, I had ONLY one can of BEER!", "It's how much for a 6-pack?", etc., etc.

A six pack of those babies would strain enough muscles, you would need the whole six pack for relief.  ;D A UK gallon is 1.2 US gallons. Depending on the BEER, a lightweight lager or a Wee Heavy from Scotland, a gallon could go 8.5 to 9.5 lbs (US) per can.

I need to borrow your hand truck, I'm picking up a 6-pack.

When i was in college we bought party beer in 15.5 gallon (US) kegs.  Sometimes 2 or 3 for a large party.

The very first thing I learned in college was how to tap a keg.  I arrived on a Saturday before class started and got invited to a party at the sailing club.  It was all good.

Gosh yes, I remember Party 7s and Party 4s well!  They existed in my early to mid teens and even in that time of relatively poor development of the taste for good beer we nevertheless could tell it was ghastly slosh!  You had to open it with one of those can piercers that were the thing before ring pulls.  Mostly these cans would have been jogged along to the party on a bus or walking and if you weren't careful to let it rest, on piercing the can, up to half of the contents might be ejected skywards in a ceiling-staining guyser fountain of beery foam! :D  Happy days.

Watney's Red Barrel was hugely popular in the 1970s but like Double Diamond, Draft Mild, Worthington E and quite a few other brands, has disappeared completely.  No one lamented its passing.  Again it was a poor, cheap, mass produced keg beer.
