My 2016 Summer Naturist Holiday in France
« on: June 12, 2016, 12:04:28 PM »

Thursday 9th June
Got up early and did the final packing, etc. naked while M went off to the hairdresser's by bus. When she telephoned that she was ready I dressed for the two textile travelling days and picked he up on the way to the Portsmouth ferry terminal where we had a long wait as the ferry was delayed by industrial action.
In spite of the delay the Hotel du Phare was still waiting for us.

Friday 10th June
Woke up to the realisation that I had not requested the car insurance extension for continental use. However we were perfetly legal because of the EC requirement that all vehicle insurance should include minimum legal cover for all EC countries. We decided to delay our journey until I had telephoned our insurance company and extended the full comprehensive cover. I did this from the bedroom while still naked, of course but as a result we had a rather late breakfast and didn't startt out on our journey to Montalivet until almost 10 a.m.
Next to us in the Gironde ferry queue was a classic 1950's Porche complete with the original sloping Volkswagen headlights and Joe Lucas indicators and rear lights.

When we got to Montalivet I was disappointed to find that the classy hotel I had targeted was now a  tatty café but the nearby Hotel d'Europe which was still in the middle of its renovations for the season (delayed by local bureaucracy) had a decent restaurant and a comfortable room.

Saturday 11th June
As things were very quiet I was able to have a bit of a nude explore in the morning before breakfast, and a bit of shopping in Montalivet market.

As a result we were at Euronat by 10:30 and were booked in and naked by 11 a.m. This early in the season we were able to take possession of our accommodation before the official time of 16:00 hrs.
M was feeling a bit queasy and decided to dress for lunch and forego dinner so I did all the naked shopping and brought back a takeaway from the chacuterie for dinner.

This young lady, pictures a couple of years ago still gives me a very friendly welcome when I shop here.

Sunday 12th June
A miserable damp morning when I was the only complete nude at the baker's for breakfast rolls and croissants although several of the other men were wearing jumpers and fleeces in “willy dangler” mode.
M still feeling queasy and went back to bed after breakfast so I wandered over to the internet café to post this blog.

I don't recall hearing this name. Have you reported from this place before?

Either way, can't wait for the pictures to start arriving.

Sunday 12th June (continued)

After lunch I sat reading for a bit and then went for a quick swim in the indoor pool.
I still seem to be one of the few people totally naked here but even I will probably relent this evening when we go out for dinner at one of the restaurants.
If this weather continues as forecast we may even dress and go off in the car somewhere tomorrow.

In the end I did dress for dinner in the Belgian bar and restaurant – my usual shirt, jacket and slacks.
When I dress I like to dress decently. Why do so many naturists seem to dress as scruffily as possible when on holiday?

In spite of its being a Belgian establishment we didn't have moules-frites but M started with prawns while I has a selection from the buffet followed by faux-filet and crème caramel to finish.
As usual we took our time dining and saw off at least three tables who arrived after us.

Monday 13th June

This morning was equally miserable but there were several more nudes in the baker's before breakfast and M iwas now feeling good enough to decide to do some hand washing followed by a bit of shopping. While we were out it came on to rin so M had to take her damp clothes off while I simply dried myself on a towel.
It then turned cool enough for me to put on a fleece that M had insisted on my bringing – the first time I have worn such clothing at Euronat.

In the evening I again dressed for a group meeting organised by British residents. Partly for the temperature but mostly because M was happier with my conforming to the group convention of dressing in the evening.

Wow!  That's a first, JOhn!  - Picture of you fully dressed and more than just the 'Disreputable Shorts'.
How dare you sully our skyclad pages with such textile effrontery! :)

Seriously, you look quite cool in clothes.  All these years of viewing your wide ranging naturist photo and video output has accustomed me to the naked JOhnGW!  I never really associated you with being dressed!  However, in the photo you look your usual rather serious with a side order of anxious.  Can't wait to get them off again, perhaps?

Glad you had a nice night out.

Torn into many separate pieces.
Torn up so completely that it is irreparable.
Torn so you cannot determine the original item.

Wednesday 15th June

I went to the cash machine before going to the baker's for breakfast croissants. Once again most of the people in the queue were warmly dressed but this time there was one other nude.

This morning, contrary to the weather forecast, the sun is shining so we had breakfast on the chalet terrace.
However it clouded over for the rest of the morning but not too much for me to remain naked for the rest of the day until it cooled down in the evening forcing me reluctantly to dress for dinner again.
What a contrast with my last two visits to Euronat when I was naked 24/7 for the entire time I was there.

Thursday 16th June

A very chilly morning had me wearing my “willy dangler” fleece to the bakers butit warmed up enough to get naked again for breakfast, after which the sun came out and both M and I have been naked until the cool of the evening set in.
In the afternoon I had a pleasant cycle ride around the site in the sunshine visiting the south beach café which is not fully open for the season.
While there I was looking down from the dunes at the beach and saw a couple undressing to sunbathe. I find this behaviour a bit puzzling as nudity is encouraged throughout the complex and I can't understand why somebody should wear clothing to the beach where it can only get sandy, even with the best precautions. Surely, if it is warm enough to lay naked on the beach it is warm enough to walk there. Equally, if you have driven there form the furthest parts of the site, a distance of over 2 miles, it would be preferable to leave one's clothing in the car.

Cycling in Euronat, a graffiti covered wartime bunker and walking off-site yesterday

I got back just in time to watch most of the England Wales match )which had the unfortunate result of 2-1 to England) in the Oree des Pins bar. Again I was the only one naked naked although it was plenty warm enough and Euronat is peppered with signs reminding you.

I like the signs. Perhaps I need some here, celebrate. Why make it just an option? I didn't know that that place was so large, TWO miles!
