NAZ
« on: August 24, 2016, 03:59:19 PM »
The Naturists in Arizona (NAZ) enjoyed a short initial freehike this past Monday.  (You can see our short Trip Report at kensunwalker.blogspot.com.)  We will really start with activities in September.  Everyone is welcome to join our non-landed club at our website (https://kencarlisle.wixsite.com/naz2), from which we can be contacted.

I clicked the site link. I got this:

Ken, you have another post here that is linked to your site under the Free Range board and the topic is also called NAZ and that link works.

The above link is on General Naturism Discussion >> NAZ and I get the same error message as Jbee. The only difference I see between the two is on the link that works it begins with http:// and the above link that doesn't work begins with https://.

My understanding is that when http ends with an "s" that signifies a secure site. Is this true? You might want to check to see if the settings are correct. When the other link on the Free Range board is selected it goes to the website I recall earlier. When I click on the link on the General Naturism Discussion board is selected, it goes to the error message.

You are right.  This works:  http://kencarlisle.wixsite.com/naz2

I don't know how the "s" got in there.

Yes, I got your message eyesup, and you have joined as a member.

You are in Las Vegas, right?

Sounds good.

Early Sept. is busy here also with family doings. Late Sept. or early Oct. sounds ok.

Not sure who you're talking with Jbee, me or eyesup.  Either way, the Prescott area is in the middle and I would be happy to freehike along.

I have traveled through there on I17 but know little about the area.

I've been to Montezuma's castle and spring as a tourist but the only camping I've ever done in that area was outside of Pine in the Boy Scout Camp Geronimo.

If the hiking is like that I could get excited about that.

I'm talking to both and anyone else.

DF's cousin knows many places and some needing 4x4 access. We can ask him if he knows one remote enough on a weekend to naked hike. I'll dig a little deeper into my internet sources about the west side of I-17. All I know is the east side, like Red Creek (see my website, archived last spring). Those may be good if the weather gets cooler, otherwise the taller peaks are west side. Plans should be for both, as a contingency.

I'm excited right now. It'll be grrrate!

There are many trails in the area that can be freehiked.  The improved freehiking trail on our land looks across to the Bradshaw Mountains where we frequently freehike.  Several weeks ago we freehiked the nearby Mingus Mountains (beautiful).

I'm starting my research here: http://bradshawmountains.com/water.htm
Looks like water traverses many many elevations in seclusion, day hikes of just a couple, give or take, miles. Hot day, higher elevation, cool day lower elevation and we have weather contingencies. That is goin' where the weather suits ma clothes...jus' shoes. Looks like cow paddies and messed up water will be the only concern in lower elevations. We'll see how the monsoon sustains, too.

Well done on the inaugural NAZ hike, Ken

Where did the other participants come from and how did they get in touch?  My guess is that you were already all known to each other before the website, as websites aren't that magical, but I'll be happy to be proved wrong.

Looks like you've got a couple of additional takers for the next event so the snowball has begun to roll (if that's not in fact a terrible analogy for AZ!).

Hope it continues apace.  I am so jealous of your weather and huge country giving you the ability to freehike in isolated places that mean you can really be free to be naked.  Enjoy!
