Re spelling, our schools do a wonderful job and we should all be happy they are their.

I have a smartphone but I never send texts; that tiny pseudo-keyboard isn't worth the hassle. My friends have pointed out, though, that when we're trying to link up on naturist trips in remote areas, a text message will get through "from your phone any time you're in range, to my phone, any time I'm in range". I was a late adopter of a cellphone (a "mobile" as some would say) but when I realized how good all the mapping applications were, I just had to have one for naturist trips. I call it "a GPS receiver that you can make phone calls on".

I've been tempted by the GPS receiver aspect, but the $70 per month that I was quoted for the service is a negative cost.

There is one at $10 that one of my geek friends has on his smartphone. He loads the maps onto a micro chip with many gigs and they will work without reception after that, in the hills. The GPS is geared to the satellites, which is good but in more remote spots, the true GPS box, like a Garmon will be able to contact even more satellites and pick up even quicker, I;m told by my geek son. This app has been great for him. The topo maps are wonderful. I may try both and compare. I haven't researched online. I could ask what the name of the app is. I forgot. There are more satellite considerations as one moves around internationally.

This app isn't as geocache ready.

Wha?  Some of you don't text?
Texting is great, useful, quick and fun!
If it wasn't for texting or more particularly WhatsApp messaging, I'd never speak to my kids!! :D

I think I must be slightly unusual for my age - I have phone, tablet, laptop, pc all connected via cloud.  My calendars, notebook, favourites, settings and apps sync to all units and the web.  I have multiple email accounts for different 'pockets' of activity and often write notes with a pen that records the writing and saves it onto my pc as text.  I have tens of web accounts, zap my loyalty cards via my phone, order groceries, parking and rail tickets via apps and rarely need to enter a bank premises.  Whilst I don't use them that much I am on Facebook, Twitter (hate that!), What's App, Linked In, Huddle, Flipboard, Dropbox, Kindle..........

I thought I was normal!  Am I?

i dont text...having three letters on one tiny button with multiple stabs to get the right one is just a pain in the butt....

i still use a flip phone anything with an exposed keyboard in my pocket dials random numbers whenever it feels like it.   touchscreens on smartphones dont seem to like my fingers and dont do what theyre supposed to.

. . . to be honest i often post summit in less than perfect english just to wind him up . . . bit like shooting fish in a barrel . . . works every time.
How delightfully and appropriately annoying!  ;)

I had a paleo-flip phone that went AWOL while I was on a trek in the desert. A search and rescue came up empty with much sadness. I replaced it with . . . . wait for it . . . another flip phone.

I have a peculiar, so I've been informed, aversion to gadgets that  demand I pay attention to them.

I've really never been normal in some ways.

We cannot do without the average, humdrum, boring, unremarkable, predictable, samey...i.e. NORMAL people.  If we didn't have the featureless, homogeneous masses, how would we gauge how interesting, varied and refreshingly unusual all we naturists here are!!

We are what we are. There is no need for comparison, is there? We have to gauge against our own experiences. We are not they. BUT, we all have bodies that need to be experienced, enjoyed, cared for and loved. Lack of that is unhealthy.

On the other hand, if you identify with "normal" you just don't get it...I currently believe.

One of my wife's favorite sayings is, "If we all were the same, what a boring world it would be". Then she insists on always doing things the same as before. Hmmm!

Like so many here, I am on a few other naturist/nudist sites.
I enjoy reading about others experiences but unless it is about an area I am familiar with, there is not much I can contribute to the conversation.
Even though I try to get some free hiking in every couple of weeks, it is usually in the same area so, unless something unusual occurs, there is nothing to report.
I drive nude all the time, but after doing that for more then 40 years, again there is not much new to report.

I want to thank kensunwalker for bringing this site to my attention through his blog posts. Unlike some sites, the conversations here are interesting and informative without the name calling and negative comments that plague other sites. Even when someone disagrees, it is done in a civil way.

All this is my way of saying that even though I do not post that often, I do appreciate those that do.

Old Yorkshire saying:
"All the world's queer save thee and me and I'm not sure about thee."

(Dates from before the word queer became associated with homosexuality)
