Gee that's HOT!  We recently got over 30degC - a record for the time of year.  Not quite 90F and we were all flaking out!  I have to say I have had mild heat exhaustion twice in the last few weeks from overdoing 'taking advantage' of the run of good weather.  Last 2 or three days have calmed to a lovely sun, breeze and 22-25C Low 70s F.

As of Sunday, we’ve had 7 days in a row at 115º or above. I don’t recall that happening before.
We’ll be in a cooling trend this week. The temps are to be plunging into the lower 100’s.

We get in the sweat at 180F, so when we get out it feels less hot, v=even refreshing at 100F. Wit the temp at 115F, the sweat was 130F without the heater on. That is the temp that we often begin to add water to the rocks, but on that day it seemed meek.

All better when naked.

Trip report!

Sorry, to be a let, down, JBee.  No hikes on those two occasions I'm afraid.  One bout of overdoing it was just in the house and garden, albeit that some of it was naked time, some of it was nearly naked time (as the wife came out to join me and made me cover some parts) sunbathing and the rest was overdoing it with the gardening, despite drinking plenty through the day (obviously not enough)!  The second bout was all done indoors on another hot humid day helping friends with heavy work and personally equipped for safety and ladder climbing i.e. steel toe cap shoes, socks to protect me from the shoes!, combat trousers, underpants, polo shirt and bump cap and/or gloves at times.  Lifting things and running up & down ladders and stairs was involved so quite a sweat developed. On this day I got quite wobbly and 'spaced out' halfway through the day and began toping a lot of water, which recovered me.  I had got dehydrated, I think, and got mild heat exhaustion.

On both occasions I felt very 'limp' afterwards and in each case the next day I had mild diarrhoea.  Fortunately in both cases I recovered in a few hours thanks to fans and cool shower, drinks and rest.

That's the best I can do for a trip report i.e. not much, JBee.  The second occasion was a few days after the 1st and about 12 miles away!

What was a bit worrying is that I appear to have become a bit more sensitive to the heat like this.  Must be age.  It's deeply irritating because the level of activity was not unusual and I have not had such symptoms before and indeed the temperature was not THAT high compared with what lots of people put up with routinely.  Many people of my age work a full day on physical jobs or similar levels of activity (e.g. our very own ricc) and come to no harm.  Why have I become such a delicate flower?

Unfortunately middle of last week to the present, which has also been in high 20's to low 30's I have had, for around 6-7 days, a heavy cold with latterly a biting cough developing and have been in bed with the fan blasting away for some of the time with sunshine a-glowing a-bright outside.  Really cross about this unfortunate blow of fortune, but on the good side, I did actively neglect the more 'blokey' jobs, like gardening and sorting stuff out in the attic (gosh it was hot up there!!!) and did some watercolour painting and caught up on the utter wealth of fascinating radio documentary output of the BBC!  Also the wife seemed rather more tolerant to me doing most things naked including some shadebathing.

Hey ho.  It's raining now.

Maybe you need to slowly acclimatize yourself to an increased activity level. Boost your metabolism. Of course you probably already thought of that.

Is a bump cap the same as a hard hat? Love the differences in language.

Speaking of MIA. We have missed Milfmog's last to monthly reports with nothing in between. Is he okay? Any contact anybody?

Nuduke, you are not supposed to get sick like that in the summer. Is there a summer virus going around? Maybe one of those hangers on that leave one sick and tired of being sick and tired? I do sweat/sauna. The heat kills the germs, clears the lungs and sweats out toxins. I drink plenty of good water and eat my raw veggies.

I just finished a physical, I'm extremely healthy, but I had been feeling run down, no energy, a bit sick. I told the doc that and his questioning lead him to think that I hadn't been drinking enough water. He said that people get sick and hospitalized just sitting around the house, not drinking enough water. I thought that I had had plenty, so I began to drink what I thought was too much. It has gone away. I now have to drink more water than I used to. I got an "I told you so," subtly out of DF. I confessed to her that she had been correct.

He also told me to do regular sit-ups both hands then two cross overs each day 25 times for the sciatica that has plagued me for months off and on. It is working and I'm getting more exercises done since I am already at it! Retirement, needs to be all about health...and being naked...of course.....

AND the as for how you're missing out on the weather, "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at...." DANG!

I doubt if he is not ok.  I hope he is walking the walk as usual but I regret hugely, JBee, that I am forced to conclude that Ian is gradually receding into the dark recesses of 'Forumblivion' with Larry, Alf, Dave, Graham, Pete Knight, Mark, Hymie, Nib, johnbare, jmf, midnightrider and a goodly number of other once prolific posters.

If you're there, Ian, we must, of course, respect your choices and indeed can do no other.  But gone are the days when you were a pillar of the group and most frequent poster.  I know you may classify them as old hat and done to death, but it would be great to hear one of your old style regular dawn morning walk reports but from the present perspective with the new dogs successors to the legend that was Taz.  I'd be interested to know whether that changes the pace of the walk and the narrative. :)  We may have seen all the monthly stats before but for me, seeing your monthly table is a bit like Big Ben or the Greenwich pips.  It marks, or used to, the steady pace and ever moving passage of the SN year! :)

It was the frequent camps, hikes, walks and exploits that the above retired list (amongst others) regularly reported and our discussions around them that gave TSNS it's wonderful flavour and which does live on here, today but rather attenuated.  Today we talk opinions and share views of the 'wider world' much more.  Duane and JBee, you keep up the enviable report style of old and Bob and JOhn too.  There are some great adventures from JohnP and FreewalkerMA and so we have our SN content, but not so regularly from many as it was of old.  Maybe in the 15 or so years of online SN we've talked enough about some topics.  My shout is that we need some really new people that are, like us, good and long standing communicators and discovering and developing their naturism the same way as the TSNS originals did all those years ago.  Then us old lags would, I'm sure, give way to the excitement, discovery and interesting reading of a new generation.

In the words of the Bard - 'Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished' and until then - chat on compadres'!

I'm exploring a new more radical realm. I am still evolving after all of these years. I am synthesizing the natural world of awareness and health with the western. I am looking into the liberation on my insides, my attitudes, my ingrained reactions, and away from walking in fear, in stealth, in secret, and covering up at every instance. I am unlearning. There is much more territory to cover, there are gains and changes in this world and the struggle for liberation, and I still have a growing bucket list of nude trips to add to my experiences.

There are a billion different ways to look at this, to feel about it, to take it to task, and more perspectives viewing the lifestyle as I change and discover new life. New blood is good and even necessary, but new explorations are ever constant. The stuff never gets old, there is always something new in the road. It never gets mundane, if you are open to expanding parameters. I have seen nudity lead to or be influenced by numerous various aspects of life. It is a vehicle. It has changed my spirituality, my systems of health, my relationships with others and my relationship with myself, my practical approach to mundane life, my horizons and the nature of my travels, just to name a few in just the last years. It has evolved over a lifetime.

There has always been something new to talk about and share, and garner a supportive cohort here with you all. This place is important. It is one of the most significant forums of naturist information troves in type and in print, with scholars of the subject matter.

"The New Generation"! I am still the New Generation.

I just hope that I have time for all of the stuff that I want to do...naked.

Get out and grow and be alerted when hearing oneself begin to sound like an old man, watching the young take over. It ain't ever over 'till I die. To quote Monty Python, "I ain't dead yet!" If you ever feel at the end of a long road, get off on any trail and get naked. You will find yourself alive and new.

I've not been getting any FRN in my otherwise busy life recently although I've had a good amount of home and garden naturism which I haven't reported.
However, I'm hopeful for something worth posting from my holiday in France to add to the trip reports forum.

Looking forward to more on French Naturism, both on the Res and SN as FRN.

Just been busy.   Gardening,  (naked whenever possible)  and mechanicking.  Decided to sell my sawmill a few weeks ago (a circular blade mill)  and buy a band mill again,  Some folks came clear from MN to buy it.   The very next day I bought a band mill.  Hadn't planned on it that quick,  but the perfect one happened along.     And the day after that from the savings on the mill (cheaper than we thought we'd have to pay)  we went and bought a skid steer real cheap that had a dead engine.   Got the engine dismantled, a 4.108 perkins industrial diesel engine.  and bought a rebuild kit for it.  ready to put it back together.     but some 4 months ago I traded for a jacuzzi,   need to get that set up.  Skid steer leader and sawmill will help out there.    My brother also got an old ford dump truck from a neighbor that needs it's old gas engine rebuilt, bottom end, bearings supposed to have gone bad.      Another project waiting on me, likely needs crank reworked and new bearings.     Haven't been getting in much time naked, but as cool weather comes along, the wood shed will be crying for fill,  and that means woods work again.

Reuben, I believe that saying you have too many interests would be an understatement. ;D
That’s ok as long as you get to where you’re headed.

Reuben,
What's a Skid Steer?

To hear your account of all the heavy duty old kit, rebuilds and mech stuff awaiting attention, puts me in mind of the great and much missed Fred Dibnah.  Don't rack your brains Americans, only the Brits will know who Fred was! :) .

I haven't been around much for a long while. I last looked in here before today was on August 9th when I commented on a post by Milfmog. For the last few years I been busy on British Naturism matters, which have taken up a lot of the time I might otherwise have spent browsing and posting on this site. Also fairly extensive house building around where I used to live, ruled out my going short naked walks in the areas. So walking in more recent times has either been meant going further afield by car, usually with a friend, or going on the organized Naturist ramblers (Nat Ram) walks.

We moved to a small town Shropshire, three weeks ago. That means I will cease having any involvement in running the London and South East Region of BN, in a weeks time, although I shall still be a member. An initial 90min textile walk (I've only had time for one so far) along with some studying of O.S maps, indicates that prospect for naked walking are very good. So depending on the weather, I hope to get out and about and at least find some routes for future use.

All of the above means that you will probably hear more from me, if not in the immediate future, then in the slightly long term.

John
