Most Memorable Hike
« on: March 21, 2017, 02:45:51 PM »
Thinking back about memorable freehikes, I guess my first memory is of my first freehike.

I had naked experiences since a child, but they always left me feeling guilty.  When I was 52 years old, I discovered naturism on the Internet through a Mormon-related naturist group, and realized for the first time that naturism could be okay.  In fact, it could solve issues I had since a youth.  So I decided to take a freehike.

I drove a few minutes to the mouth of Parowan canyon, found a dirt road that led to nowhere, got out of the truck, stripped, left my clothes on a rock at the bottom of a small valley, and hiked up and down nude.  It was a short freehike, but the world changed for me.  I knew I would never be the same.

All of my memorable hikes have been nude. I don't remembering hiking with clothes on, other than to get naked at a destination like a pond, or a less frequented trailhead. I think that I'll have to stick to the "Memorable 'Nude' Hike" thread. I jus' don't relate to this thread.

Ken,
I too was in my 50's when I discovered my inherent naturism and partly as a result of the TSNS forum discussions.  It did not take another 50 years to realise the regret at not having discovered this earlier and the enjoyment of nakedness in nature that I'd missed as a result. Other sad thing is that, despite this happy discovery, even today opportunity to make up for lost time is still too infrequent.

Ken, we spend time in Utah on occasion but I've never done a naked hike there as I am unfamiliar with which areas would be best. Parowan isn't that far from here but it's in the south of Utah where things are a little more, how should I say, 'more traditional'.

Where are good places you went hiking. I do realize that things have likely changed.

Hi Duane:

I don't even know where to start - there are so many nice freehiking spots in Utah.  It's has perhaps the best freehiking in the U.S.  You can freehike just across the border from Nevada.  Call me and I'll share a few places.
