Title: Gretings from Porto, Portugal
Post by: lafonso on November 02, 2020, 01:33:44 PM
Hello, my name is Luis and I am brazilian.
I am also portuguese as I live her in Portugal for 14 years now.
I am addicted to naturism since 2009.
Before that I was a home nudist since the 90's. I forgot all about it during the 2000's
But in 2009 I reconnect to my old naturist self when I found a nudist beach here in the north of Portugal and knew very good people, couples and naturista families.
Had took part in some naturist association as well, but I felt disappointed with some people in the higher positions on those associations. I just joined again very recently to two naturist association, after knowing their leaders for more than a decade. In fact I prefer solitude when I am naked. I really like people but the unique experience of being in nature as God intended is something that you can't compare it with nothing.
In my family I am the only one. One the things that really puts me down is the fact that my daughter never accepted this. She used to live with me from 2015 to 2019. Now she returned to her mom in Brazil, but I think one of the reasons it was because my naturist habits at home, specially during summer time.
ISo, I like to hike naked, swim specially in secluded or far places, where I would not be bumping into other clothed people. Of course this happens and happened to me many times but I did not find any negative reactions so far.
Hope to find like minded people here.
I am on my 50's now.

Its goode to hear from you. Things get much slower on this forum in the winter months. when naturism can only be a memory, or a vacation for many, but then again, I don't really know why the traffic ebbs and flows, but suddenly there will be a flourish of activity, even in the dead of winter.

Warmer months promote more enthusiasm, more naturism to report and reflect on.

I relate to your description "addicted." With all of those thing out there being addicted to, I find it wild that something as natural, normal, the way that a body is supposed to be, feels like addiction. There's a trap of thinking in there. People are so addicted to clothes that when they come off, it is a general revelation of the senses. I have become so used to living without clothing, that covering up feels restrictive and odd.

I'd like to know more about naturists options in Portugal. How many beaches are designated, or is there a lack negative attitude. Here is USA, the law and culture are leaning into repression of the body. How is the law in Portugal in concern of nude people, or partially clothed?

I'd like to know more about hiking nude in Portugal. I was looking over the internet, looking for clues. I thought that it might be a good place to retire, or escape to, or visit. Mostly, I found the typical information of a more commercial naturism, in safe spots, socially, but nothing from someone who expands his wanderings and liberates himself a as a free range naturist. All and any of your experiences and know how would be a delight to me.

Your daughter's attitude, I would think might have changed over 4 years of having a naturist around, but outside influences on a kid's perception can get in the way. My son isn't naturist. His mother turned on naturism after our divorce. Although he lived with me, I had to curb his exposure to the lifestyle by her legal force. The home nudity was just matter of fact nudity, not such a big deal.  My friends and I had to generally "politely" stay dressed when he was home, or risk her opportunistic consequence. Only casual nudity at home could be by the significant other, or me. Eventually, the social norms and habits took him over.

This is certainly a place for "like minded" people to congregate. It is als nice to talk when the weather keeps us indoors.

Thanks for the welcome.
I know people here from the other sites I am associated to, like Naktiv, naturist-corner, christian naturista also.
Yes I am new to this thing of free hike. Here in Portugal can be difficult. I only experienced at night on trails far from busy roads.

The more that it is experienced the more comfort is had hiking naked, the more places to go, the more fun is had. The more familiar with an area, the bolder and smarter/crafty one gets. Just keep doing it and please, report about it here.

Hi! Your story sounds awesome! How do you forget about nudity for such a long time? That must have been been a bad time for that to happen! :(
