Music and emotional vibes have been shown to affect plants dramatically in test studies. Then, there's those Japanese water crystal studies. I used to give deeksha from a hill at the edge of my property panning it across, a good natural vibe. Then, one day, I climbed a nearby mountain and looked nearly straight down at the valley. There was a green oval that was my space, a perfect demarcation distinct and healthier than the miles around.. There I was no S....!

Yup, Nuduke. We used to say about past life regression therapy that even though you don't believe it, your unconscious does. There is a great deal of biology in belief. Placebo is an example.

One thing being a naturist has led me to is a better understanding of my body and that I need to look after it. Until medical science proves otherwise it's the only one I've got!
To that end I live mostly on a plant based diet these days. I have seen a definite improvement in my health and well being as well as reduced cholesterol levels and less body fat.

I am glad to see you bring this up mentioning this healthy way and discussing with others with some knowledge of it already shared. I have come to this way when learning of it eight years ago and I have already been calling myself vegan, and it is not a negative thing. This healthy way that studies show is important in avoiding certain serious issues to health is very relevant, and there are all the other issues, which can be said more. I was already nudist and naturist a lot longer, this way is most compatible with naturism.

is more 'honest' as they sell it minced, in slabs and chunks and slices etc., making no comparisons or similarities with meat (although I have to say the names of some of their products nevertheless allude to the meat free aspect e.g. Quorn meatballs or sausage rolls).

I think it's more about marketing than anything else.. perhaps to encourage meat eaters to try a plant based alternative.

And anything that does that is a good thing as far as I can see. We produce more livestock feed than food for human consumption and it is ravaging the planet. Aside from the cruel practices in meat production.

I think it had to be the only way forward for the human race to exist without eating up all our planets resources.. literally.

But as usual, money and power override sensible options.

I watched kiss the ground recently...
https://www.netflix.com/fr-en/title/81321999
It reinforces the way we have to look at farming methods and food production..

Non of this should be shocking news, but somehow it is.

Is should be compulsory viewing!

Okay, I've watched it twice, now. I'm fully on board.

This is what I've been experimenting with here at my home since I moved from a live living desert ecology to a flat dirt lot, where things barely can grow, in a desert with long dry heat. I'm learning slow, but sure. The garden is getting its soil, the new tree's cover is coming around. There is nice soft grass happening in many areas, edible weeds are coming about, green and its varied. Top soil is being created by amendments and composting. The veggie garden is thriving with the drip systems watering. I'm feeling noticeably better and food cheaper than store bought, my food bill is probably half a this point and dropping.

The list goes on and all the while, I've been out there working/exercising my body in the sun naked and mostly barefoot. The water bill, with care and rainwater harvesting is up just a couple of bucks and I'm starting to get so much winter crop food and planning a summer feast. Each morning, I step outside into the warmth of the sun and fresh air, strip off my robe and breath and stretch like a lizard. Then, I gather around ten different green foods into a huge salad and throw it into a blender with fruit and sprouts, a raw egg, collagen powder, hemp meal and then sip it in the garden meditating, or reading under the huge eucalyptus tree, Ida. It's such a pleasure, a gift and so very simple.

So, there is much more to this soil thing, and naked and barefoot fits right in.

Lucky fella!
Each morning I rise and put my robe ON because its cold*, then I make breakfast and look out at the grey, rainy garden.  Sometimes I go out to breathe and stretch and find it's damp and shivery, so I go inside again**!
If I emigrated to Az, I wonder how long it would take to acclimatise to your hot sun and be able to emulate what you do, Jbee?
John
* Actually I don't - I wrote that for effect.  I stay naked as the heating has usually come on.
** But in the summer, some days I can go outside, like you, and sit in the garden in the morning sunshine and have breakfast, read etc., which I love to do.  It's just that your opportunities, JBee, are almost every day whereas we damp, shivering Brits have this privilege on a minority of days in the year and almost never Oct-March!

Three hundred days a year. The other 65 ain't so bad. Acclimatization to summer can be rough the first year. You know how I cope. Acclimatizing is not difficult when you are naked and the sky is blue and you spend lots of time outside. There are swimming pools and places to escape the heat 30 minutes to an hour away, depending where you live around town.

Lovely!  :)
I suppose if you live out there you are in danger of the same grim pessimism!  "Oh no, not another beautiful blue sky, no clothing needed and and hot weather!  Oh how we wish for some rainy, damp chilly weather like the UK to be able to wear our warm clothes, which we so rarely get a chance to do in Az!"  Somehow, I think not!  I for one wouldn't complain after a lifetime of UK weather and indeed 'acclimatization' would be no.1 priority!

We're more sensitive to cold weather. Sissies really. DF has low body fat ratio and then a body just gets spoiled. We also have to acclimate to the summer heat or bail out, heading to the mountains, or out of state like snowbirds. I do just fine naked up till around 102 or so. The electric bill goes up, but naked indoor temps of around 85 are comfortable. The mountain trees are a nice change.

It takes my breath away when it chills out and the sun disappears fora couple of days. Last winter, La Nina and climate crisis gave us a cold spring after no winter to speak of. This year El Nino has us on an up down. Lots of rainy days a few at a time and then exceptionally warmer than usual. I'm okay with this winter, where there are plenty of reprieve beautiful days to take advantage of.

The more that I can be outside, the better I acclimate as the heat increases, the more comfortable that I shall be in the next summer's heat.

A chill here and there increases my appreciation for the nice days in between. Today, I've got a bug, but I shall be savoring the radiant sun in calm air, mitigating my recovery.

Mark, the 3D printed shrimp article was very interesting and raises a real question in my mind.  Why is it that vegan and vegetarian alternatives to meat are made to look like meat?  What's the point of being a vegetarian when you pretend to be a carnivore with ersatz imitations of meat based foods.  Surely many if not most vegetarians eschew meat and don't want to be reminded of it with such vegetarian meat copying products.
John
These processed veggies with flavorings to imitate meat probably sell better as acting like something familiar than "try these processed veggies with flavorings." You take old, over cooked veggies and slap them between two pieces of the same old bread, it may be warm and convenient, but just like the other food in SAD, Standard American Diet, there is not much nutrition left, only some glob of gunk taking up space in your body and screwing up the workings. It makes you feel full, but not nurtured. It gives the Big Ag 5 another unhealthy option with a longer shelf life to increase their profits. It ain't ethical, it saves animals, but kills people early.... >:(... ;D

I have a relationship with my vegetable garden and all plants. Goofy as that sounds, my vibe affects the health of that food and it passes that health on to me.Even if my attitude is only imagined, my attitude toward my body and how what is put into it, affects how it is consumed by my body's system. There is biology in belief. Reverence in all relations is healthy for all relations
I don't think it's goofy.  Whilst I would want to examine closely any science that said our thoughts influence the way our food develops....because I don't believe in such a thing, nevertheless I can entirely side with your contention that your attitude to what you grow and consume enhances it's healthy effect because your own thoughts can seriously influence yourself and therefore perhaps augment the benefit of what you consume.  And I guess it might enhance the growth of the crop because you are motivated to look after it well physically.

John
My time in nature has taught me to respect the other living beings, love them, be kind. They respond to such. Their senses are acute in many of the ways that we have lost. The same goes on in a garden. The vibes, vibrations of a place, or a person, affect all of the surroundings. There is biology in the soil, the tiny critters that listen, feel, react, thrives, or not. None of these of earth are things, like a product, produce, or any of the attitudes that diminish the perception of them, they understand love and respect.
How's that for goofy? ;)

I have been just lying in the sun everyday for a while acclimatizing my self to more of this wonderful weather. Tan is getting ready to protect me better from more of these wonderful sunny days.
