Just so others don't define me as just a naturist.

I find that quite a profound remark.  It certainly applies to me.  I always think we naturists are people first with contingent* lives, interests and obligations that do not arise from naturism, and that we are necessarily* people that like not wearing clothes second.  Whilst you, Jbee, spend a lot of time doing things naked, the fact is that you would be doing things irrespective of whether you liked to be a naturist.  And you have many dimensions of things you do, again not contingently liked to naturism, although you like to be naked doing them (e.g. hiking, gardening).  Same for me and presumably same for others.  For instance JOhnGW, Bob, Reuben and Ricc practice nakedness in the course of doing other things such as boating, mowing, logging and gardening which lend themselves to being naked whilst doing those.
I suspect many naturists practice naturism purely for the sake of being naked.  This is where I find CO clubs a bit sad - the whole purpose is nakedness and there's not much to do in a fenced club than swim, play miniten or sunbathe.  Of course there is fellowship and friendship - I don't want to run down club naturism, which of course has its place.
However I like to define myself by the things I do and not the way I dress for each.  Nakedness is a pleasant and fulfilling adjunct to living your life and doing what you do.  I don't regard it as an end in itself.  FFor instance most people (there are always exceptions!!) don't get a job in a large corporation simply so they have the opportunity of wearing a business suit!  I guess that's why I don't make huge efforts to go places and do things that are purely for the purpose of taking your clothes off.  I like to find places where doing something (e.g. a pleasant hike on woodlands) can be accompanied and enhanced by being naked.

A clubs, water volleyball at clubs. We love to dance. I can't tell you how often we wish we were naked out on the dance floor. Cubs have their place.

I'd like to do most things naked most days, if it wasn't illegal and then again, I don't like drawing so much attention to myself and all the social ramifications, that might come about, but I'd get used to much of that to a degree, I'm sure. I certainly adapted to Zipolite quickly. I don't think that there would always be a bunch of weird uncomfortable negative flack around in public. That isn't about to happen around here very soon. I'm nude most of the time. Getting dressed is so inconvenient and uncomfortable sometimes. I get used to it, but after awhile, I'm done and the clothes come off asap.

I could see myself working at home, or at a naturist venue, or retiring with the goal of living naked. It just feels so good, natural and free.

Having a self identity an awareness of self from things that I do and enjoy and then labeling myself as a something are two different things. I'm careful not to get locked into anything, but I know what I like.
