The Californians are going to neighboring states. The ones coming here (Arizona) are cashing in on the equity from their huge real-estate prices. When they sell they can come here and cash out on an equal home, or get even more lavish, or have some cash left over and lesser taxes because of lesser value.
None that I talk to are complaining of California crime, that can be everywhere. They like California lifestyle. In fact, many arrive wanting to turn Arizona into the Californication. Local California building restrictions, fees, etc, and some state do frustrate some Californians, but they often embrace laws made by lawyer's civil suits and with no common sense.
There are huge Californian companies making huge subdivisions for Californians here, making huge profits.They look like California, Phoenix looks like L.A. sprawl. It robs us of our culture and style.
