Free Range Naturism / Re: How was your month for Free Range Naturism?

Ha! Back in the day, my wife was just about ok being naked and happier topless if there were many others on the beach in similar stages of undress. But that’s all gone - I assume to body confidence issues. I see other couples on our local nude beach and envy the fact that the wife/partner is naked and enjoying the sun and the sea. This summer just gone, one naked couple spent half an hour snapping photos of each other and I wished my partner had that degree of comfort and confidence in herself. But I wouldn’t dream of trying to persuade her to change - it’s her choice but I would love it if, one day, she had an epiphany and joined in.

Lovely pictures! Don’t know where you live but hope it’s still warm. I’m in the UK and winter is quickly arriving. Having said that, I was on our local unofficial naturist beach last Saturday and there was still a vestige of warmth on a rare sunny day - so off came the clothes and I luxuriated on the joy of a firm dose of Vitamin D for around half an hour. I need to do the same next month as it will mean I’ve been naked on that beach every month of the year - 30 visits in 2022 and on the hot days, it was busy with numerous locals as well as holidaymakers who had heard about the beach and wanted to give it a go. My wife sadly isn’t in to naturism but is happy to accompany me and has now gotten use to my desire to be naked at every opportunity!

What is it about wives?!!

Mine is Irish Catholic and for years, even showing an ankle was risqué! (Ok I exaggerate a bit).

In our old house where the garden was predominantly private, there was a constant commentary of ‘cover up’ and ‘be careful’ whereas my attitude was far more relaxed.

Over the years, she has relaxed a little and is now ok at a nude beach, me naked her clothed. But it’s still awkward and I look at nude couples on the beach being SO relaxed about their nudity, perhaps taking pictures of each other or having dialogue with others who are naked. When I have a naked chat with others on the sand, you can almost see the thought bubble from her head that thinks some sort or orgy is about to happen.

We were born naked. Victorian men sea bathed naked. Across Europe people get naked without a thought. It’s 2022 for goodness sake! I don’t think I’ll ever understand (but it’s sort of reassuring to find I’m not alone)!

The signs advising the beach is naturist face those walking from Wells. I’ve no idea if there are signs at the western end but that’s been the direction I’ve walked. Aside from the off person doing the coastal walk, I have been the only one on the beach and while I haven’t measured the distance, it’s probably been a two mile round walk back to my towel. It’s that liberating freedom of having so much space, not being corralled in to a small controlled area that makes it so intoxicating! I used to live a good 2 hours drive away, so not exactly local (and on several occasions after arriving, I’ve found the beach covered by a chilly sea mist). Now moved further south, so not been to Holkham for a good five years. But the south has benefits with the beaches at Studland, Eastney beach at Portsmouth and both Yaverland and Rockne End on the Isle of Wight. But none deliver the sense of total freedom that Holkham gave me!

Free Range Naturism / Re: Nude in Public

One summers day when the air was already warm at 6.30 in the morning, I headed out for my daily run in the fields behind our house. It’s criss crossed with footpaths and there are normally dog walkers about, so not ideal for nudity. But this Sunday morning, it was quiet and with the land flat I could see a good distance. Off came my shirt and I revelled know the warm breeze hitting me. At an avenue of trees that gave some privacy, I decided to take the plunge, removed my shorts and ran naked. It felt fantastic! At the end of the avenue, and revelling in the freedom, I looked across the fields and could t see anyone. So I continued the run naked and without the shelter of the trees, it felt truly intoxicating. A nearby field had corn almost ready for harvest so quite tall. It was only at the last minute did I see an elderly couple on their bicycles. With nowhere to head, I made a frantic effort to get my shorts back on but with running shoes in the way, I failed miserably. The only way was to brazen it out and I jogged by clutching my clothes with a cheery ‘good morning’. They were very British and simply cycled by without saying a word!

I can thank my Dad for showing me the joys of getting naked. On family holidays to the Highlands, he and I would spend all day in the hills and as we returned to the car, finding a cascading Burn - ideally with a waterfall - was the perfect conclusion. He’d strip off, I’d follow suit and we’d plunge in the ice cold peaty water. With no towels, we’d lie on a rock to dry off in the sun and it felt so liberating and freeing. I was a youngster but it instilled a love of naturism and the joy of wearing nothing under a wide sky was so beautiful. Free range naturism is such a perfect description and while I don’t live in a place where it is easy to practice, places like Holkham Beach, where one can walk miles naked, makes me want to do cartwheels in the sand!
