The "emergency lifeboat forum for free" that you mentioned. Where is the product found? Is it novice user friendly?

I didn't create the lifeboat forum myself but it seems easy enough. You can create free forums here:

https://www.proboards.com/create-free-forum

As an example, if you called the forum freerange then you'd get a url like freerange.freeforums.net

Well son of a gnu!  Turns out there are many free forum sites out there on the wide 'ol world of webbiness!  You don't, as I always thought, appear to have to have a website or paid hosting to attach the forum to.  Great.
JBee do I take it from your last post that you are in process of setting one up?
I want to stay here, of course, but it's a good idea to have the lifeboat if ever this forum gets into choppy waters.
What will you call it?

I didn't get far. There's a lot on my plate for the moment and my dose of life's aggravation doesn't need increased . If something shows itself, I could set it up. Computer website setting up has always been tedious and lengthy for me.

It would have a disclaimer referring users to this site. Just a lifeboat.

The hosting service was bought by another company a while ago but I did not know that they were going to change the Domain Name Servers . Seems like the old servers were finally switched off. I raised a ticket and was told what to set it to instead. Sorry about that.

Don't worry though, I wouldn't ever close down the forum without giving the community a chance to continue.  I also make sure to make back-ups.
