"I have not the smallest molecule of faith in aerial navigation other than ballooning...I would not care to be a member of the Aeronautical Society.", Lord Kelvin 1896

"… it seems probable that most of the grand underlying principles (of physics) have been firmly established."  Albert A. Michelson, 1894

We still have no clue where energy comes from or what it is.

Being clever and/or smart is no guarantee of being right. One thing I have learned is that when you least expect it, Mother Nature or Murphy (is he her son?), is standing nearby with a bat. Whenever we start to believe that we know everything, someone comes along and mucks it all up. This not only applies to mathematics and physics, but most emphatically to human behavior.

Dollars, Taxes? ;D 'Ats the most ridiculous thing I evah hoid!
Have you been watching the Marx brothers recently?

Not recently, but I have been through most of it,more than once. Now that you mention it, I'm due for another dose.

Check out "A Night at the Opera".
There is a line in there about Chico's uncle that lives in Dollahs, Taxes.

I gave my kids a proper upbringing with the Marx Brothers.

Yea, when he addresses the judge. I couldn't remember which one it was. I think that I'll start there.
