Well, whatever the cost of recycling, which I agree may not necessarily be cost effective, but it is keeping plastics out of the environment for longer, recovering materials, particularly in electronic stuff that are in short supply in the world and must make some positive impact on a net basis, surely.
In our county, population around 800,000, little or no domestic waste gets sent to landfill.  We have a gigantic incinerator that burns the rubbish from the whole area and generates electricity.  The residuum is ash that goes into civil engineering - mainly roadbuilding, I believe.
To get back to naturism....note, I usually pre-sort our garbage into sperate bins.  Saves a lot of messing about resorting a binful of miscellaneous crap.
I almost always do my sorting and transferring naked.

It's like camping. Try to leave things the same or better. Appreciate the eco-system around you and attempt, at the least, to do no harm. Consider my life here on Earth as a part of the Earth, in my heart, as much as my wishes for the rest on humanity, like for my own grandchildren and on. These bring me to a moral conclusion.

I recycle, reduce, reuse, compost, etc. I do many little things that probably don't amount to a hill of beans in a larger picture, but I do that right, at the least, attempting do it with the best of my ability. Putting clothing in its rightful minimized place is a part of that. Ahmen.
