Dropped out of the 100F's here. Getting nice outside, 90F's and this week wonderful mid 80F's. Open windows, next to the bed in the evening. I have awoken in th enight to pull a sheet over my body to keep warm a couple of times. No blanket, yet.

It was about 7C (40F?) outside when I put out the recycling for collection this morning (naked of course).

My naturist hiking friends are up in Vermont, and I had to go to New York for a family event on the wife's side. It's gorgeous weather, and we just had a nice walk on the High Line, and I've got my clothes off back in our room, but the chance of combining comfortable clothing and a walk here is zero. And the in-laws would be the firtst to call the cops!

Hey babe, talk a walk on the High Line:

Yep!  September 21st, the traditional autumnal equinox (in fact on 22nd this year), has now passed signalling sadly the end of summer.
Here in the E of England it is a bit drier than the west but Aug and Sept weather has been mixed - warm and wet and now cooling off.  The grass, bushes and plants have had an amazing growth spurt.  Good for Ricc I guess - more business cutting it back but hard work for such as me!  I am feeling less free already and like Dave Balead (but to a lesser extent) am looking bleakly ahead to the dark, depressing autumn and winter months, as I do every year.  I look forward to that day in late March or April when I realise that the spring optimism has once again alighted on my soul.  Until then batten down the mental hatches and ride out the winter.

One winter thing I am looking forward to, though, is a very still, freezing, frosty, crisp night with the sparkling jewels of the heaven scintillating in the black damask bowl of the heavens, in the intense dark of the midnight hour (they turn our street lights out nowadays to save energy), to step naked on the icy sward of our back garden, to walk around and feel the biting chill on my skin and make communion with the night, the trees and the frosted landscape.

They turn the street lights out! How very convenient for a midnight stroll in the best attire. Any thoughts on that?

Wouldn't dare, dear boy! I live in a very suburban neighbourhood where clandestine security video cameras cluster in the eaves like swallows nests and PIR security lights slash the encompassing dark like a winged arrow when you least expect it! Mind you, hadn't thought about it before....A late night stroll down to the river might be a possibility and strip off when I get there......hmmm...whirr click boing toc toc tingggg!  (Sound of mental wheels in motion)  :o ....

Summer broke here about 2 weeks ago. Days in the low to mid 80’s and nights in the upper 50’s. The rain has stopped too. We could use more though.

It snowed in the Sierras last week and helped the firefighters over there. Hopefully the fire season is done. They had a wet winter and spring and it probably boosted the undergrowth.

Wow, John. You make walking out on snow and ice in the dead of night actually sound inviting. Doesn’t get that cold here very often.
