Thanks Duane and others for thinking of me. Life has been busy lately, and I am ambulatory. The feet complain often, but they get me where I need to go. I have retired the handicap placards on the vehicles.
Emerald Lakes is just North of Houston (Porter). I have never been there but have spoken to many that are familiar with them. Mostly have heard very good reviews. The negatives seem to come from a perceived homophobic attitude. They do not acknowledge same sex couples in thier admission fee structure and may refuse entry of single males if gender balance gets too skewed.
The 'Star' is Star Ranch, in McDade, over an hour west of Houston on the way to Austin. Haven't been there either, as I am more of a free ranger. But everything I've heard about them is excellent.
There are other venues around here, but can't share anything personally on them either. But if the weather cooperates, you might find me on Lake Somerville or Galveston Bay, getting a good dose of vitamin D while sailing Amanda Lou.
