We saw clothed people at check in and dressed to register, checked it out, saw that it was totally optional, and never looked back. As I remember, I was walking in nude and DF cautioned me, that everybody else was dressed. I went back to the car for coverings, just in case. We attended the office nude after that, to read and get information . . .

Yeah, I wondered about walking in the office nude. I almost did when I was leaving, but didn’t. I couldn’t remember what the rules said. Guess I didn’t want to accidently break one. I was in there just twice. Good to know.

I did have to take a moment to wrap my head around the concept that I would be doing these things with others there to see . . .

The old bathroom is where I was. As Bob noted, the urinals are around that corner on the left and the window I was next to is on that wall to the left of the photo.

My photos were a family trip about 30 years ago.  My 3 sons (by the cabin) are all grown and have their own children now.

Yeah, I wondered about walking in the office nude. I almost did when I was leaving, but didn’t. I couldn’t remember what the rules said. Guess I didn’t want to accidently break one. I was in there just twice. Good to know.

The whole OLT/VV land is Clothing Optional, including their front office.   The staff is usually clothed, but not always.   When I'm there I often go to the front office a.k.a. "Welcome Center" naked to use their computers.  And, I drive naked so I arrive naked.  No problems with staff or rules. 

One time they posted a complaint about people doing sex in the springs.   My GF was just sitting quietly on my lap for a couple of hours in the dark.  I don't know what the problem was.  That was after getting a divorce from my first wife.  Maybe the complaints were from someone being more active with sex.

Oddly, using the restroom. That is probably the one place we ALL expect privacy. Most of us beyond a certain age are familiar with group nudity because of our experiences in public school and PE classes. This was totally different. Not automatically getting that privacy was unexpected.

I had read the brochure explaining all this, yet when it came time to walk in I did the same as most. I didn’t want to embarrass myself or anyone else. More than once I saw men and women walk up to the door to the bath house and pause to stick their head around the door and look in before entering. I wasn’t alone there.

The shared restrooms at OLT/VV are an uncommon experience for many.  I was well forewarned and visiting as guests of an AANR travel club on my first trip and never needed to poke my head around looking.   I came to like the shared space, especially for nudists.  Bodies are just bodies. 

I do remember noticing the window next to the urinals, AFTER I standing there. I don’t remember seeing it as I walked up. I guess that’s a type of progress.

I don't remember the window, but I still remember the little girl who stopped to watch me pee.  Anyone coming in the restroom door is almost in line with the wall where urinals are mounted, and so gets a side view.  I have never minded peeing in public outside anyway so doesn't matter to me. 

When I decided to take the walk around the camping area, I was sort of surprised at how few naked people I saw on the trail. One or two but most moved from place to place wearing something.

Lots of clothing worn at OLT/VV   Maybe its because of cool nights or something.   Sometimes around 2000 I felt like the only naked person.  My latest visit in 2016 found many more naked people again.  I'm encouraged.

I'm going to post a few more pictures of VV/OLT   Like a lot of places they discourage taking pictures of anyone else without permission so I dont' have pictures of the pools which were often occupied.

This is the main hot pool at VV.   My kids in about 1989. 


This is the trail to the upper pool.   It gets snow melt in spring so its best in late summer and fall or winter.


The upper pool is hotter than the lower pool, but its not very deep.


This is the trail I followed to the mountain top.  Its an old mining road leading up along a creek just south of the VV property into the National Forest.  Sometimes I was the only naked person. 


This is another old mine just off the path.  Marion shown here was the President of Roadrunners, an AANR nudist club.  Note his clothing.


Here I am climbing above the tree line on my way to the top of Cottonwood Peak.


This is the land by the ridge going up.  Snow still there in late August. 

Its one of my all time favorite places to visit and camp.   Plenty of hiking and soaking, plus fun people.

Wow, a 30 year younger Bob!
That's really nice and also amusing.  So thebig moustache of then morphed into the grey beard of now!  The Bob physique of today pictured in embryo.
I can't quite explain why, but it gives me a warm feeling to see the formidable and substantial Bob we see pictured today, behatted, bebearded, solitary and stern-faced shown in the light of history, as the family man still a naturist but, none the less, the embryo of the Bob to come!

I guess I realized that walking naked into a building with everyone clothed and me the only naked person was a big jump for me.  Maybe next time.

The picture of you on the slope with the dog made me look in the background for the sheep! I liked that one. Laying out on a grassy slope on a mountaintop. What else could you ask for?
