Did you not try to swim in the little Lac du Lauzon?  I would have. 
How similar Brittany seems to the south west of England in the Belle Ile en Mer blog.  I suppose it should - it was probably part of the same land mass at one time.
It is fantastic and wonderful that the naturist hikers mixed freely with the textile hikers.  Did any of the textiles take off their clothes and become naked hikers?

No, it was quite windy at this altitude od 2000 m and the surroundings of the lake looked a little swampy

I don't think some of them followed our example, but at least it may have made them understand that nudity can be natural and acceptable.
We were fifteen including a non naturist who accompanied her naturist husband
