I was just at Avalon several weeks ago. Had an incredible, unseasonably warm weekend.
This is one of the few places in the Mid-Atlantic region that is open year-round. I had the opportunity to walk, then drive through the property. This is a gated clothing optional community that has permanent residents in condos, apartments, permanent single-wides and massive RV's with extended roofs, pop-outs, decks, and enclosures. There is a connecting road to Somerset, an adjacent clothing-optional community of high end homes. (see this listing...

There are also RV and tent sites for campers.
The 18 room hotel is gone. In its place, they placed 2 rows of very nice, spaced out, pre-fab, themed log cabins. I had the "Beach House", which was spacious, well-appointed, comfortable king bed, and two ring chairs (suited only for flex-spined college students), but I bought my own comfortable LL-Bean bag chair. Heat, air conditioning, and ceiling fan. Full bathroom with shower, kitchen included toaster oven, toaster, microwave, coffeemaker, sink, and 3/4 size fridge/freezer.
The Activities barn is rebuilt but has a few weeks work on finishing touches. Will be very nice.
Tennis, pickleball, etc. courts were still open.
The outdoor pool was open but only suited for those who favor icicle body jewelry. Snack bar was open only Friday for dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. Still not bad for an "end of season" weekend.
The indoor heated pool, hot-tub, sauna, and workout equipment are in full operation. The pool was a warm 87 degrees, hot-tub 101. Saturday night, the DJ was spinning in the indoor pool area, and the bar was open.
My first time there. Met some incredibly nice people and had a great time. I look forward to going back in the spring. Not a place I can pop in for a weekend with a 4-hour commute to get there.
