You can walk many miles there with no human trace.You are on your own. The fires help to open up and keep a bearing by sight.We were just in a n mood for a walk that extended moment by moment. If we had planned, taken more water, we could have hikes much farther. If you lug more water and a backpack, you can camp way out. I haven't checked the place for streams.
You can just park on the side of the road, or a turnoff anywhere and just do day hikes. We could have driven and camped half way in and then walked and walked and definitely nude the whole time with my 4x4. BUT this is a full hard day's drive from home.
