Palo Duro Canyon

Continuing on our trip east, we stop in a valley known as Palo Duro Canyon, just outside of Amarillo, Texas. We're to spend an afternoon and then overnight camping.

It's sort of nice, Jbee, to find that sometimes you can't just wander naked and free just as you fancy and that the conditions aren't just perfect!  Sometimes your reports seem to be from a mythical world of naturist freedom that doesn't really exist (although of course I know it does!! ) Other people and flies and adverse weather are more like my experience.  Hence my envy of most of the good journeys you record!
Spectacular geology at Palo Duro though.

My world ain't no myth. It is reported as it was and how we get around the obstacles. I found this place frustrating for the most part, but the day had its moments. Another better day, better weather, less mud would have been more fun with a better story to tell.
