Was this trip as spontaneous as it seems? I would love to be in a place that, when the weather is right, I can simply head out on a trail naturally without having to travel miles and extensively plan the outing.

This is spontaneous as there is an informal group of naturist hikers in the area. One of them proposes an outing two days before, usually via an email list, and those who are available join him at the starting point or can carpool to get there.

DF and I are curious. What is on that table on the stump? Or What is that thing that you are standing behind at the indoor stump?

Also, wow magnificent chunk of rock. I could sit there several days in its grand presence.

It is the altar of this chapel built by scouts

Every chapel deserves a sermon about the naked truth.  :D

Is the chapel and octagon? Lots of native American structures are done like that for spiritual reasons, sort of like having a door open to the east. At least part of the chapel appears to be not square.
