Safe Search
« on: November 18, 2023, 08:40:48 PM »
I couldn't find my website on my own computer's browsing using google and typing in "The Free Range Naturist".

I discovered that "Google" has imposed, without my permission, or request "Safe Search" It filters out "explicit" material. My website is now declared some kind of pornographic. You have to disable the feature someway to see NATURISM! I am getting traffic through other websites that republish a link to mine, but you can't get through straight to the free range naturist!

Wikipedia  says that my company is shared by other websites including the White House, IBM, the American Library Association and Liz Claiborne.

We are not pornographic, my website is wholesome, this is an extreme insult to us.

It is a free speech issue, as it censors the free expression of the topic of body rights and freedoms.

Anybody know of a good dependable search engine other than "Google?"

Anybody know a way to communicate that this is social engineering that the new internet lords are imposing upon us. Wiki also said that it has to do with the relationship between China and Google. So, their business model enables China to enforce  moral codes upon our society and censor free speech.

Censorship of humans is evil and completely misanthropic.  It's mostly driven by monotheist religions that are always pushing their beliefs and use mandatory body masks as obedience training for the masses. .The whole "sin" shtick hates our bodies.

I use Duck Duck Go instead of Google.   I tried your name on Duckduckgo.  It also was censored.   Thanks to your investigation I went to it's "settings" and turned off "safe search" options.   Now it works better.

Thanks for letting us know.

I have been starting with Modzilla, then Duck Duck Go pops up on the address bar which changes to Startpage. That should cover me, but the censorship is still there, unless I click Safe Search off "Every Time." another two clicks....

The censorship affects my free speech. I am not porn. Nudity is not porn. That is the whole idea. How else do we get that message out? They have censored sites for just providing links, I have read, but I suspect that it is more complicated than that. I can find my site through other links and that is done at least a dozen times each day according to my stats.

What has happened, is Bob and I combed the internet and cleaned out disinformation about nudity and children a few of years ago and since. That is the main resistance to body freedom. It is corner stone to getting freedom and staying there, "What about the kids." Now, after lifting the vail by getting around this censorship, I have found several sites that are spouting these lies and mores that have have popped up unbeknownst. Including Healthline, which I thought was pretty reputable, quoting some Freudian child psychologist from New York City who totally disregards science, studies and instead just pops off some speculation, like Doctor Spock did decades ago.

Bob, it looks like we'll have to get down a couple of days and refute the lies again. Healthline will be difficult to crack. It may take setting up a competing website to contradict the "authorities" and make them look bad. They hand out these PhD's and these people get respect and use it as a shield.

I gave it a try using Presearch (https://presearch.com), and FreeRangeNaturist is blocked with SafeSearch turned on (searching for free range naturist), although it is found when SafeSearch is turned off. Intriguingly, though, one of the first results returned while SafeSearch was on  was a link to an article on freerangenaturism.com, so they're being very inconsistent.

And just on a pedantic note, blocking the search results isn't censoring you, JBee. You haven't been prohibited from putting anything you want on your website. It's censoring the minds of all of the people who might otherwise find you and realize that public nudity is a non-event. The censorship is real, it's just not directed at the provider. It's directed at the consumer, which is more insidious.

Either way, it is an entity shaping our social structures strictly for the sake of profit. It is taking away our fee speech on a supposedly public forum, that once was a public uncensored forum owned and controlled by the government. The corporate structures and their profit are now more important than our fundamental rights. It is the same as censoring and going through our personal effects as the mail, which a government can't do. Yet it is now allowed because these are not government entities. These corporations and powerful wealthy interests are now our new un-elected defacto government.

We might as well have kings and queens again.

Mojeek.com has "No Tracking, Just Search".

I can find my sight and others freely using its search engine. I'm going to see if it is compatible with my Modzilla set up and dump Google, etc.

I haven't looked into who's running it and why, yet.

I use microsoft Edge - faster thn Google, annoying in different ways, equally good and annoying as any of the other engines.
I searched thefreerangenaturist and https://thefreerangenaturist.org/ and got to your site fine.  Searching The Free Range Naturist gets no result for your site on the first page oddly (I got Nigel Nib's site on that page though!).  You maybe need to do a bit of SEO!
Safe search permanently off on my browser btw.  I too object to being 'nannied' by large corporations!

How many of the TSNS set who met at Abbey House Gardens in 2010 are still on here?

Not many of the old guard left here, Nib!  Of those at Abbey house I think I am the only one still active on the forum.
Can anyone fault that!? It would be nice if there were!
