Lemmon Pools Fire Escapade Part II
« on: December 20, 2024, 08:40:06 AM »
Part 2 we're camped out on Mt. Lemmon. Trip down into the Lemmon Pools and journey back. Two extra challenges effect the trip...lack of drinking water and chocolate!

That's a great adventure, Jbee!

Were you still nude when you met the couple with the dog that licked too much, and then the guy with the pitbull?

That was after the crest at the saddle. It is a well used day-use trail at that point and no telling who might be there. Saw a ranger there once. I put on a kilt or sarong, DF her sundress to avoid hassles, when we heard the couple. I honestly don't remember, but often along that stretch I'll continue for a while with kilt in hand ready to cover when I detect someone and may have. A couple of times we have just continued nude there, late in the day and not in the mood to be dressed, when it calms down. I tend to get covered when we near the trailhead. I'll see what DF remembers when she gets done with the class that she is doing now.

I agree with your predilection, Jbee and DF.  Everything goes better with a bit of dark chocolate!
Interestingly detailed blog there.  Very enjoyable alternation from the very detailed such as the lizard and unusual root conformation to the very large i.e. the landscape, vistas and rock formations.
I never get tired of these adventures.
Do I detect that you are now tending to be a bit more careful with covering up at strategic or tactical moments following your declarations of a few years ago that you are going to drop the pretence of covering up if in danger of encounters or brushes with officialdom?  I can't criticise that more conservative policy, it does seem right not to perturb others' status quo by covering up when appropriate, in the interests of not being censured or restricted at other times and places.

Fells nude, I spoke with DF about covering up during that stretch of trail and her recollections are as foggy as mine.

Nuduke, Some places, like trailheads are not good to be nude. Sometimes we are just not feeling it. Sometimes the direct sun demands some shoulder cover., sometimes the packs get uncomfortable on backs and shoulders, so we put cushioning cloth there. We don't back down, we don't make a point of our exposure during encounters, it is easier to just do what we feel and be bare. DF will sometimes tend to put on a shirt for comfort or sun and cover up during encounters, just because it is there. It's about us at the time, and sometimes less about spreading the nude walking lore to others at times.
We're naked quite a lot, mostly, still.

Ah yes, I see.  Good to know you are still asserting your right to be naked in appropriate circumstances but equally, being prudent where statistically your presence naked has a high chance of being considered unsocial (prudence as opposed to risk aversion, as I tend to be i.e. I tend to cover up in case of encounters rather than because of encounters).

I'm not so sure about statistical "high" chance, but "higher" chance, which could be really nothing much.

We stay naked most of the time. "We have been naked, sometimes until you showed up," a message conveyed by our coverings also used. We stay legal, at least technically, by the letter of the law, generally.
