Randonnue
« on: September 25, 2015, 08:42:37 PM »
JMF has started a major adventure at Randonnue... I think. He has joined his wife on Mayotte, is coping with the conservative Muslim culture in stealth and enjoying the island. Here is the link:
http://www.randonnues.fr/

I did a quick google translate, my French hasn't been used much in the last forty years. I'll save you the trouble:
Mayotte
Published September 6, 2015

New living in Mayotte. In 2012, it was the discovery of this island located between Africa and Madagascar. This year I joined Michelle is there for three years. My view of the island can take into account its knowledge of the different facets of daily life, land and marine environment, both his experience of social living conditions in this changing society between African traditions and French departmentalization. It is true that it is a land of contrasts: contrast of blue sea and green forests, contrasting colorful traditional outfits and road traffic, contrast air-conditioned houses and huts of corrugated iron.

But the lagoon is still there with its coral reefs nearby beaches, so easily attainable with flippers, mask and snorkel, populated by colorful fish. Corals of all shapes and the colors vary depending on the water level of the tides and the orientation of the light: pink, green, bright purple or white, sometimes gray or beige or melting into the dark blue depths .
Friends were here a few days. Swimming together, he in suit, me naked, wrapped around the wrist jersey, I found myself on his images of GoPro. With which I have mounted two short videos.
Unfortunately, on this island Muslim population, which also faces serious security problems, especially in isolated places, difficult to really enjoy the many beaches lined with coconut and baobab trees. Too bad. I still managed to find a few quiet corners to enjoy fully the sun out of the water or walk on the sand.

Bon voyage

Wow, some location.  I bet JMF gets the 'most tanned' award after 3 years on a Desert Island!

Yes, but it is naturism against Muslim traditions. Who will win out? Will they diminish his will, or will he become an even better naked outlaw in stealth amongst them...we shall see.

I'm not sure that he is now living there. The google translate has its limitations.  Séjour means "stay" and can be combined with other words to change meaning. It may be a visit of undetermined length. She may be there the three years. I haven't used my French much since living in Paris as a teenager.

I'm the same as you, jbee!  Can't summon up enough of my long disused French (which was never better than rudimentary) to sort out the ambiguities of the translation. I'm not the one to supply the perfect subjunctive of avoir off the top of my head - Je l'ai eu sur le dessus de ma tête, peut etre*!)

We shall have to wait till jmf gets back and ask him!  He may just be on a brief holiday / visit to Michelle who is there for 3 years rather than jmf being there for the same duration.  With that level of natural beauty though, he may simply go native and disappear into the palm fringed beach, eating coconuts and palm hearts and drinking fresh morning dew, to a life of naked and solitary bliss. We may never know the answer to our inept French!... :D

JMF has been at it at Radonnues: http://www.randonnues.fr/
The photography and locations are the usual spectacular.
There is a map at the section called "Carte des parcours" where something like 84 trip reports in his area are listed, going back to at least 2006.

He seems to be doing a lot of group activities lately. He also did a two week sailing around the Seychelles Islands, stopping at deserted beaches, etc., but I found only one spectacular photo there. :D

JBee,

How wonderful our forum is.  Your random bit of info/comment led me to follow the link and spend a happy few minutes browsing through JMFs wonderful, wonderful website.  He looks to be having lots of naked fun and also in most recent pics seems to have injured a foot or similar as he has it strapped in some pics and in a waterproof shoe in others.  And what a great interactive map.  Not only has he done a mind boggling number of hikes but click on any map pin and you go to a page of text and photos for that journey.  What an impressively comprehensive and systematic storage of his hiking and naked life experience.  Bit OCD perhaps?  He's quite a guy.

Of course it's not just JMF.  Our other wonderful website of naturist hiking is yours, jbee

After the Seychelles there are about seven new posts, including NEWT 2016. JMF is very busy having fun.

Naked in the rain up on the Alps! Brrrr! Unless you keep moving.

Some of the photos look like they were taken in the tropics!

I see JMF is still spelunking.

Gorgeous pictures!

I might mention that the Seychelles thread has been improved. It must have been under construction or something. I commented above, I notice, that there was only one fantastic photo, but it may be one of the best, at this point. JMF's photography often stuns me.

Like beauty, spectacular must also be in the eye of the beholder.
I spotted more than one!

I agree with you on the stunning factor. I see one of his visual compositions and have a similar reaction. How did he do that!

I need to find one of those sites that will translate a web page, so I can read his reports and commentaries.

Google, "google translate". It is very easy to use. Copy and paste.

Google translate is better than "Copy and paste". You can drop the URL of a web page into it, and it'll give you a translated version in the same format, with pictures and everything. Plus any links you follow from that page will also be translated.

Whoa, JohnP!
I just tried that and that is exactly what I was looking for.
The slide show didn't work, but as I have noted before, I am still running WinXP.
Maybe that's the problem.

Thanks,
Duane
