Apache Lake I Postscript: A Trip Report
« on: October 19, 2015, 09:37:22 PM »
Apache Lake I  the Postscript is now online:
 http://thefreerangenaturist.org/2015/10/19/apache-lake-i-postscript-trip-report/

Depending on the recovery of my foot, there will be a few short trips coming in the next weeks, weekly barefoot articles, and at least one other ditty.

November will display an expansion and improvement of the Sedona three part trip report that I posted three years ago.

This foot thing is getting old. The rains have continued, the desert is lush, and the temps have cooled to dang nice. There's an incredible world out there that isn't being properly imbibed.

Hey Nuduke, this one could be suitable for the Mrs.

Ah, Tortilla Flats! Now I know what roads we were on as I did a map search from your post! The nightmares of trying to drag my travel trailer there and we never took the road that led to Apache Lake. Great visuals once again such that I am rethinking my usual Florida winter escape to a change of scenery in Arizona. Logistics would have to be worked out however but it is nice to dream.

Sorry to hear the foot is still a nemesis. Unlike your area we had our first frost and almost overnight the leaves have begun their fall displays. There is a ray of hope that perhaps this weekend between temperature and weather a fall excursion may be in the realm of things. With the right choice of campgrounds a bit of FRN may be possible also!

Yeah, Indian Summer is around the corner! The trip to Mt. Lemmon gave us Fall. We collected colorful falling leaves up there. As it turns to winter, the seasons will creep down the mountain, elevation, by elevation. We'll have the ability to go from summer to winter in a a half hour, choose our season and return home.

We don't have deciduous forests up there, just a few trees along the creeks among the dominate pine hilltops. Your fall forests are fantastic. I've traveled across country, to see the Dead in New York and travel through the Fall array. They would play every Fall there, just so that they could spend time in those forest.

This is your encouragement for a fun trip report with pics. Fall isn't totally depressing.
