Totaltanjim, we have several here that are in a similar situation.

Ian, I don't think gives us a blow-by-blow of every encounter but he does update his activities on our thread here "How was your month for Free Range Naturism?".

We at least know he's out and about. He's one of the most active on this forum.

Besides, WE haven't heard all your stories before, so they may be like others here but you have a different perspective we haven't heard.

Duane

So, there!!  :D

Well scupper my remarks of earlier in this thread!  I have just been away for a week or so - couple of days in London, couple of mad days, couple of days with friends staying, more mad days.  And on logging into FRN...It's a job to keep up!  About 4 pages of discussion in the Encounters...what to do thread alone and 2 pages of discussion elsewhere! And it's winter season!  Well done lads! (and DF)

Refreshingly there seems to have been a recent slow trickle inwards of new faces and infrequent posters returning, two of whom indicated they read our forum but haven't posted hitherto.  Well, that's great I say!  Hopefully our new joiners will stick around to chat volubly.  Hopefully that loss of old friends that I lamented in post of October 17th will be offset by the appearance of new friends.  Bring it on!

Mostly true but correction: He was one of the most active on this forum.

Oh good.  I'd be quite happy with occasional injection of irrelevant milfmog banter just to let us know you're keeping up! :)
How are the dogs doing for instance?  Have they become obedient naturists yet?  Are they early warning of encounters, like Taz was?

Funny you should ask about the dogs, Carole and I are in Cumbria this weekend with the dogs. We have been doing some training with them,  teaching them not to chase sheep (or anything else we have not given permission for). It has been an interesting couple of days and I now have sufficient mutton to keep me going for a year or so (joke).

I am up to my eyebrows at work at present and sorting probate on Carole's mum's estate is taking most of my free time, so I have less time than I'd like to share the banal aspects of naked dog walking. Sorry, I will try to do better...

Have fun,

Ian.

having been through the same processes of probate etc with my fathers death late last year and the ongoing clearing of the house and sheds of a man who appears to have thrown nothing away in the last 35 years i can see why ians postings are less frequent than they used to be.

weve now got mil in a home, house sold, all her money in a joint account with the wife, hopefully that will be an easier process,  we are all hoping ir will be done and dusted sooner rather than later. dementia in a close family member  is not an easy thing to live with for too long.

Having gone through the process with depression era parents (better save it, never know when it may come in handy) I understand the burden. With winter near those naked dog walks will be limited so I will look toward next spring and those banal aspects of your walks.

Fellow feeling all round, guys

Ian,
I too have had probates to deal with - 5 to be precise and it's a tough job.  I thoroughly recommend doing it DIY as both the probate process and the liquidation of estates is really not difficult, just arduous, tedious and sometimes frustrating if there are any investments to liquidate.  But at least you can do most of it at the PC and in the quiet reaches of the midnight hours as I often did (but then I often do!).  If you employ a solicitor or accountant it costs a load o' dosh and I reckon they look at the size of estate and plump up their service and charges accordingly.  Broadly speaking it is as much work to keep the professionals stoked and correct their errors and chase their delays as it is to do it yourself.  The registrars and taxmen were all very helpful to me.  I did one under Scottish law and the registrar actually corrected and commented on the declaration etc. to help me 'translate' it into Scots Law speak, which was more than he needed to do to carry out his job.  PM me if you need advice.

You can say that again!  Ricc, you and the Mrs are very brave and loving (or penurious!) to take on a demented person in your home.  My father and my wife's mother and father all had severe age related impairments of various sorts. My wife and I moved her mother from Scotland to Surrey to a retirement flat near us where we could care for her.  She was going downhill fairly quickly and faster than we had hoped/expected at the time and continued on that path, but with 2 carer visits and a visit from us daily she managed to continue living in the flat just on the cusp of capability to exist in the few hours between someone being there to help her.  Eventually we had to start thinking about a residential home, which she was compos mentis enough to be utterly resistant to (and I don't blame her!), but she died before this was necessary.  It was sad but equally a relief as she herself was not happy and getting increasingly confused, depressed, isolated and incapable and we were getting increasingly tied to looking after her.
Hang in there, fellow.

crossed wires
mil is in a home ,  spending the brother in laws inheritance , not in our home.

weve had a succession of moves in the last 10 years, her home and the 3 brother in laws were in town about 15 miles away, when father inlaw died mil moved to a smaller house and garden, then one brother in law moved to spain .  then about 5 years ago due to ongoing health issues  wife and i persuaded mil to sell the house and move to a rented flat 2 miles from us.   about this time one brother law stated that blood would be spilt next time he saw me.  something to do with me saying the move would save us 2 thirty mile round trips a week so we wernt worried about turning his 500 yard trip into a 30 mile one cos it only happened once in a blue moon.
we then got mil into a nearby sheltered housing complex, basically her own rented bungalow with pull cords in every room and 24 hour warden cover.
during this period my father had several stays in  hospital , on discharge from the last 3 month stay we got him into the local carehome for a fortnights respite care, he was insisting he could look after himself at home but refusing to let anyone but me through the door...cardiac team said he had 6 months.... turned into nearly 18 months.   fortnight after he came out the backdoor in a box we wheeled mil in through the front door... when you find the toilet bleach in the fridge and the carton of milk in the bathroom it aint safe to drink the tea.
year and a half on mil is still in the home, not quite sure which planet she thinks shes on most of the time,  one brother in law visits 3 times a week , one flys back from spain several times a year and nobody has heard from the 3rd one in two years, though  his name does appear in the home's visitor log arround xmas , easter and mothers day.
over the years weve cashed in all mils assets and put the money in a joint account with the wife , when the time comes legally all all the money becomes the wifes as its in a joint account so all we have to do is arrange the funeral and  split the remaining money with the brothers in law. there will be no assets so we wont have to go through probate at all.
the only hiccup is liable to be the idiot brother , may moan about where all the money went and demand to see records , but once the bank accounts closed we wont be able to access statements on line and were running it paperless without hard copies so he can whistle in the wind. we discuss very major outgouing with the other two as and when it happens.

in some ways it was easier with my fathers affairs cos i was the only surviving offspring and sole benificiary and executor of the will and had  had full power of attorney aswell, though physically disposing of the acculated pocessions took a lot of time.

Hi Ricc,

Tough times indeed.  Sorry about the misunderstanding, however what's actually happening is no less worthy of my sympathetic fellow feeling and admiration.
I too have had family problems in the past over an estate.
Even if an estate is under tax threshold for IHT I think you still have to submit a probate even if the deceased has no estate left.

Busy as usual,  and nothing of significance to report on in the line of naturism.   I have significant plans but getting them executed is slow going,  still working on entry level.      I work an occasional few hours naked but that's getting few as the cold comes in.  Will try to get in some time tomorrow afternoon as it's supposed to clear up and get close to 70.  Morning will be occupied with getting the semi tractor maintenanced so it can go again, a couple minor things.   Wasted yesterday trying to work on it and the car hauling trailer,  got nothing done.  This morning went back at it and managed to get the trailer fixed after 6 hours.   Just a spring replaced and rust frozen brake adjuster freed up.  Every step was a hard job.  Had to cut the spring away from the bolt with cutting torch since it was frozen in the hole.   Had to take the whole hub off the bearings to get to to adjuster, take it off and work it over with pipe wrench and vice grips.   Finally got it unscrewed oiled up and working.  It sure came hard.     The saltwater on the winter roads works on things.    We are considering selling the truck but not until we are a bit closer to having something else working.   It don't make us much money (all the expenses and hiring a driver eats up just about everything it makes)  Hope I can get a greenhouse ready to start making us an income before too long.   Then by multiplying greenhouses the nude work all year can begin.   Some will be non nude since there are some ready to work in it that are non nude lifestyle oriented.  But I'm planning one back on our land (along with some outside gardens) which will be designated as the Eden Garden House.  Adam and Eve style workers.    I think the trail/road leading to it will have to have signage indicating such so an occasional uninvited visitor won't be too uninformed or shocked out of their pants.  Because I want the area to be a designated clothes free work zone as comfort dictates of course.  Don't want to have to be concerned about who may come along.

Hope that you get that greenhouse year 'round nude enclave really soon. It would suit you very well.

I know where everyone is around here in the southwest, inside! 4th day in a row above 115º.
I got up at 4:30 am, and it was 89. The sun wasn’t even up. Of course that could be the heat island effect in action.
