Naked Gardening and Naked Gardening Day
« on: May 05, 2017, 03:20:55 PM »
This coming Saturday, May 6, is the 12th annual International Naked Gardening Day

In celebration thereof and because its the warmest day of the year so far, I got out and mowed and fertilized my lawn.

Human bodies are natural, comfortable, and green.

I like your lawn! It looks big. Using a pushmower is a good form of exercise. It looks like you had a wet winter.

GREEN! Love the GREEN!

My watering timer is clogged open. Just cost me a bundle in water loss, but the crop loved it. SO, I'm off to fix the frickin' thing, naked, or to buy another, clothed, today.

We're leaving the garden tomorrow for a couple of days at the hot-springs and then four creek-side backpacking a beautiful canyon. Sure hope that I have water and a garden when I get back.

I must work today so won't be able to celebrate on the designated WNGD.  However, I've worked nude most days on my land maintaining the trail and posting some new signs, and I'll do the same next week.

It's probably the coldest day of the month here. I stayed naked inside the house and watched my lawn and the weeds grow.

Don't know if my 'brown thumb' would qualify me as a gardener.
Maybe a weeder! ???

Considering that it's bacon, I would be doing more thorough and exhaustive research!  ;D
That's a heck of a sacrifice.

Naked Gardening Day in Seattle.   We share much of the same local law with Seattle even though I'm on the far side of Washington State.

i dont eat much bacon now, id  rather grill a pork chop, its about half the price per kilo of bacon.

pork chop in the halogen cooker with slices of spud or sweet potatoe is done in about 10 to 15 minutes whilst i complete the morning bathroom visit .   occasionally ill use a slice of beef or gammon instead of the pork.  it also means ive cut down on bread consumption.

I had much the same with supermarket bacon, must be the extra preservatives they put in it. As long as it's not too windy I'll do pork chops on the grill even when the snow flies! They can be as good as any steak!

Back to topic however, the day was spent as many others. Watching the rain fall and the grass and weeds grow!

My naked gardening day didn't happen on the designated day.  It was a cold front coming through about then.   But I more than make up for it by getting in my naked gardening day almost every day since,  to be continued all summer.   Making new gardens back in the woods on the mountainside.  Working on a half acre level site currently.  Hauling old horse processed hay back and spreading it,  adding several minerals, rock powders.

reubenT and nudewalker,

We were in your neck of the woods last week. Cumberland Gap and eastern Kentucky. Rained until Friday night but it's a beautiful area. Dense and green. Compared to here, 'stuff just grows there'. Here not only do you HAVE TO water you have to tend the soil. The forests there were amazing!

I guess the temperatures are the only thing you have an issue with.

Duane, the temperature is something you learn to cope with and the body does adjust. I just hope we can keep it dense and green, someday I may post pictures of how the landscape has been torn up with either mountain top mining or the pipelines. It's a big country with lots of diversity!
