i quite agree that you can teach your offspring whatever you like.  but that doesnt mean anyone else has to abide by your rules.  information is the basis of an informed choice.

For those that don’t know him, Major General Peter Cosgrove is an “Australian treasure!”

General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently. You’ll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of an ABC interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military headquarters.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
We’re going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That’s a bit irresponsible, isn’t it?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don’t see why, they’ll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don’t you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don’t see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you’re equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma’am, you’re equipped to be a prostitute, but you’re not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

Oh that could be told with an interview with a nudist, too. A line to remember. TV news women are bleach blonde, cross leggy, Chest dip and it fits any interview. Gay men around Boy Scouts could be argued the same way. Gotta love that! What passes for conservative dress, subtle sexuality, it is so obvious when I hang out with naked people for a few days and then walk back into modern insanity.

The post about the interview with General Cosgrove is apparently an invention.

This isn’t to say that the message of this comic routine doesn’t have the punch that an actual interview would have. It’s a great story, but it is just a story. Unfortunate!

It actually can be used in multiple situations where you might run into a predisposed mind intent on subjugating you based on assumptions and a reliance on stereotypes.

It’s a very malleable lesson useful in so many ways. I had never seen this one. Thanks, Davie!

I've always thought that next to those signs that say, "Beyond this point you may encounter nude people," there should be another sign that said, "Beyond this point there may be voyeurs."

There are voyeurs everywhere. People watching is a mild form of voyeurism.
There doesn’t need to be any nudity.

A gentle prodding to encourage someone to see an alternative view is, I think, what he was hinting at. Clever could work I suppose. But the question, "Why do you want to see me naked?" is turned around by letting them know it isn't about what I want from you but that I might, just might have a good idea for you to try. A suggestion.

Watching and gossiping about other people is by far the most popular human entertainment.   ALL people get deep psychological satisfaction from watching other people.  We pay money for art, film, sports, parades, and a thousand other ways to watch people.  And, people want to see naked people, to actually SEE the body of the people, so much that "porn" is around 50% of total Internet usage. 

People want to see other people naked because people want to see the person, not the cover up.  People find other people endlessly fascinating in all our endless variety. 

Of course I want to see you and everyone else naked. I'm a normal person.  I'm always fascinated by seeing and gossiping about people.  That's how people are.  ALL people.
