I'm not sure such an anti-nudity bigot would ever countenance nudity in the locker room.

Are communal showers disappearing? I related a story here from one of the scout summer camps that had communal showers for the leaders. The 1st time I was there in 2005 the old style shower was there. I loved it. It was basically an open air shower with a six or seven foot wooden fence around it. Open to the sky. See here.

You'll get scratched by everything, burnt by anything, you have no protection from the world. You need to cover yourself. You'll get sunburned, chilled, pneumonia. You just need to always protect your body with clothing, head to toe. You'll stub your foot, get prickers, get diseases, spread diseases, You need clothing.

Well, the more you are exposed to, the more resistance you build against them. What better way to go out into the world than to be prepared for anything nature will throw at you?

"What doesn't kill me, makes me strong", eh?

I'd be inclined just to smile and say "Our bodies were meant to live outdoors, so I expect I can survive those things. And hopefully I'm smart enough to find some shelter if it gets really dangerous!"

Something like that. If you don’t know your environment and know how to survive in it, then going out away from civilization, dressed or undressed, is a bad idea. This is true regarding people, bacteria or viruses or weather.

We’ve seen that out here on occasion. It reminds us of the “survival of the fittest” law”

Attitude of a clumsy klutz and unhealthy wimp.    Direct exposure to the natural world with no interfering layer of fabric is the natural healthy way to live.

Actually the more skilled one gets at survival the less equipment is needed.   So one walking out into the wilderness to stay, naked and without a single tool,  takes the most skill.    Therefore someone who can't imagine doing that is revealing severe lack of skills.

"You just want to show off, parading around, getting a thrill. I don't appreciate you using me for your exhibitionist sex games. You have a lot of gall to use children to expose yourself, too. I can't understand how anyone would enjoy exposing themselves to children? You creep!"

Ah!   so Adam and Eve were creeps huh?  And exhibitionists,  and child abusers.     I just wanna live like they did,   happy naturist gardeners.

I lost my note sheet, in a bag. I just found it again. Here's a popular one:

You'll get skin cancer. You must stay out of the sun, or coverup. You need sunblock, ask any doctor. Doctors know.

virtually all the official health (and nutrition) advice weve had in the last 50 years has been proven to be bollocks based on bad science,  most of it designed to sell something.

specifically theres data from australia that shows increased sales of sun block, increased incidence of rickets due to lack of vitamin d from lack of exposure to sunshine, coupled with a relentless rise in incidence of skin cancer.

I'm staying out of the sun and I'm covered in sun cream, I'm still naked. Problem solved.

There’s no guarantee to hiding inside. More accidents occur around the home than anywhere else. Plus there are more benefits to being outside period. Vitamin D being one of the best and you can’t get that if you are covered up.

Has there been any checking on the types and quantities of chemicals in sun-block?

Sunblock gives false security. The list of chemicals is on the back, they clog up the natural function of the skin. I'll trust God's gift, the senses, and awareness. Ya can't have a base-coat and vitamin D inside and be white as a ghost ( if you've got that color in the first place). Did nature intend on us to rely one sunblock? Did nature leave us dangerously naked and we have survived by the skin of our teeth? Nope, we have a very good set up for the sun when we need it. Its okay to cover up or seek shade, just not get hung up in it. Just trust and be grateful.

Well JBG, you have to think about who "we" are and where nature expected "us" to live. As the quote goes,"Remember when we were in Africa?" Back then, scientists say we were all black. We didn't wear clothes, and the sun was fierce, so that made sense. Then some of us decided to be European, and there it was so cold that we had to invent clothes. With the clothing and the reduced sun intensity, we developed pale skin in order to make vitamin D. In fact around the world, humans got a whole range of skin tones according to how much sunlight they were receiving. Now you're a northern guy who's moved to the desert and you like to be naked. Is this really what nature intended for you? Obviously it's not immediately fatal ("White man's grave", ha ha) but if I lived in that location, I'd be somewhat cautious.

I recently was asked to consult my doctor after a blood test returned a very low VitD count.  She gave me supplements for 7 weeks which returned me to normal levels and at the consultation for that we talked about getting sunshine.  She recommended being in the sun and revealing as much as possible - at least torso and arms, she opined, little knowing that I was delighted to get a mandate to expose all to the solar rays.  She also said I should not wear sunblock as it absorbed the UVB.  However, she also advocated being sensible and sunbathing for only about half an hour at a time.
Thank you, Doc!  Mandate for naturism for health!
