Jbee, at this point it qualifies as a two thumbs up, five star rating. Used it most of the weekend as need for cover in 90F+ temperatures with humidity and it was cooler and more comfortable than any shorts I own.  Anyway, I think you'll be pleased and find their lightweight kilts to be what your looking for as a cover up.

Yes Duane that is the one. Since it will be a dual purpose as both a cover up and something cool to wear at the campsite if necessary my wife had the input as to the color. I still want to take a trip to Cleveland and visit the store. Along with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a few ethnic restaurants that have been recommended.

After a two week camping trip which if I had to be covered up the kilt was the go to choice I have the following observations.

 First; I did get quite a few complements from the fairer sex, in fact one who was present when the wind got a hold of it and my hands were occupied commented on the lack of anything underneath. So being lightweight it will fly away in the breeze.

Second; I found the Velcro started losing it's grip after a few days of wear. I don't know why for sure and I'm hoping that a washing will restore it.

Third; be sure to follow the instructions on how to measure and if in doubt go a size larger. I think that may have been some of the Velcro issue.

Fourth; the belt loops are a nice touch as it held things in place once the Velcro gave out.  Plus it does give a finished look for everyday wear.

In conclusion, I feel it's a garment that serves it's purpose and I did  order another one, one size larger. The lightweight material was comfortable enough in 90F heat and humidity. We have another trip planned soon so I'll update on the new kilt then.

I like the idea of a hiking kilt, although I've only worn one hiking a couple of times. But there was a period in my life when I wore a kilt two or three times a week. I looked at that website and all those kilts look two or three inches too long. Of course, that's just personal preference. My idea of the best length is just to the top of the kneecap and it looked like most of those covered the knee. But maybe they were all wearing them lower on the hip than I did.

BlueTrain, being that I have some backround in sewing I took a measuring tape and measured the length and found the 20" drop to be perfect for me as it hits just above the knee.  Also they are worn higher on the hip more nearer the belly button.

I bought a Scottish Kilt and It work great for taking off / On quickly   Also good for CarNuding

I have 2 Kilts that my GF sewed. One is wool, in my family tartan.  The other a solid tan. Both are well made according to traditional measurements.  I love them both, but they are heavy. I definitely feel fully clothed when wearing them.  After reading about the lightweight kilt in this forum, I bought one.  It is wonderful.  I have worn it a couple of times and received several positive comments. 
The art group I occasionally hang with hosted a cardboard art parade the last Tuesday of October.  This coincided with our Naked Tuesday event that occurs each time there is a 5th Tuesday in the month.  Anyway, I built a cardboard airplane out of my son's bicycle.  I intended to wear a body paint bomber jacket and loincloth, but time constraints and other considerations led me to just wear the kilt.  It worked wonderfully.  I also received a lot of positive comments about my tail art.  I painted a representation of my family crest (naked man on a dolphin) on the airplane tail.  I hope this link works.

We did end up with a brief Naked Tuesday event at the end of the evening that was announced by me whipping off my kilt to demonstrate that nudity was perfectly acceptable for the event.  But that's another tale.

Kilt Test Drive Report:

I took my brand new Kilt Bro to Zipolite. It rapidly became the only thing that I wore, other than wrapping the sarong around my waist.

I wore one of my shirts for a hour or two one night, then I stopped dragging it around, in case it got cold.
It is lightweight and so comfortable in the heat. It got plenty of use, didn't get dirty looking, smell, or lose its shape and wrinkle in ten days of use for a couple of hours, or so, a day (most time was spent naked beach-side). Pants would have needed more care. So much more comfortable than pants. I still have new shorts that I have yet to wear.

I washed it when I got home, cold water delicate and hung it on the line. When rain came unexpectedly, I brought it in and laid it on DF's massage table, folding the pleats to keep it trained. No wrinkles as I wrapped it up into a folded bundle and stashed in my bag (It folds nicely around the thick velcro belt at the waist, naturally). I'll need another one. I may wear out this one.

At $56, I'll get my money's worth. It is very muck cooler than my camo kilt, which is of a thicker more military material.

I also rate 5 stars, two thumbs with NudeWalker. Thanks for the tips and encouragement.

My pleasure Jbee. I now own two of them which now gives me a total of five kilts in total, and one pair of jeans.  I do have to admit that with one of the Kiltedbros kilts there an issue with the velcro holding under stress.  Overall I am satisfied and will order another one soon.

I haven't had that issue. I took note from your earlier post. Not wanting to stress the velcro, or me, I adjust it to leave it less stressed. I thinned down. I think that helps.

I notice when I sit, that it squeezes back at times (haven't thinned down enough to slim). In Zipolite, I generally wore it in the streets and undid it when sitting at tables eating. I've kinda set my preference in the totally unencumbered state. Air if I can.

I haven't used the belt loops, just for comfort and lack of necessity. I suppose a thick belt would look more manly-man. I wouldn't need to adjust it.

The thick waist band helps the possibility of slipping up or down. I'm used to having leg friction hold pants in place to some extent. This free floating skirt thing is wholely new for me.

I will say that it certainly comes off quickly and folds up into a nice tight flat little bundle. When we would reach the beach, not a second was lost becoming freely nude once again and it stayed in my armpit so well that I often forgot that it was there.

Just wanted to add a short note here.
