My own land is my best place to hang out, not yet an ideal environment for hanging out and enjoying life naked, but at least it's conveniently located. And improvements are in the works. We have 80 acres on a mountain side, another 47 owned by a neighbor behind which I will be developing along with our own for agriculture. Just need to clear several areas for pasture and food crops, maybe as much as 20 acres in many small plots scattered all over the 127 acres. We have 4 springs to get water from, gravity will take it to a good share of the area. I plan on building ponds and pools of various kinds for irrigation water storage, and for cooling off in when it's hot. Since the time when irrigation is most needed is the time when the springs are the lowest. And then there are thousands of acres out beyond of timber company land and private land used for timber. I can roam it all as I desire, which isn't much any more because I find myself pretty busy. quite a few water falls, many are fall through spring flow, dry up in summer. It's limestone karst geology, lot's of caves and underground drainage. A significant cave with 246 ft waterfall in it is under our land, but it's a cave for serious cavers only. I did a trip in it with a local caver when we first discovered it. Another favorite hike is down the road about 8 miles, not a long hike but there's a number of waterfalls in a row on a creek that's isolated. No trails to it, just have to know where to go off through the woods to the right spot to get down the bluff. Then follow the side creek down to the main creek past several pretty falls, then up the main creek rock hopping and climbing past several more falls. The last one has the remains of an old moonshine still beside it. Then take an old woods road back to the vehicle. It's a rough but not too long hike. Not for the faint of heart or frail of limb. Nice place in spring when the early wild flowers are abundant, or in hot summer when the water is cool. But then the side creek is dried up and the main one is low.
But right now I'm still working on obtaining the land clearing equipment. Spent yesterday on that job. Found a couple trees down across our road this morning, been cutting them up hauling the firewood to the woodshed, plus a few logs to sell out of them. Had to get my tractor going, it ran out of diesel down in the hay field. Takes a bunch of cranking to get the diesel back through the injector pump. Took the small generator down to power a couple battery chargers to keep the battery up and crank till it starts. While down there I picked the summer squash the hunters had planted. (they aren't around to pick it very often so they tell us to keep it picked) I could do that naked, and it was raining most the day anyway so clothing is ill advisable as long as work keeps me warm enough. I'm just using some synthetic micromesh shorts when out where people are likely to come by. Been sittin here at the puter wearing nothing but my cheap dollar store magnifying glass eye shields, it's been getting where I can't focus on things up close any more without them.
