Well, I got to AHG at around 11:30 as planned (having stopped on the way down for a 45 minute naked walk to collect a geocache for my Jasmer grid (other cachers will understand..))
Almost as soon as I had got rid of the unneeded clothing I was tapped on the shoulder by Keith who introduced the AHG first timer he had brought down. While we were chatting, John arrived and joined us. I guess we chatted for around 20 minutes before Keith and Hugh wandered off to explore while John and I sat down for coffee and lunch before we wandered the gardens.
We all met up again later in the day and had tea and cake (well, some of us could not resist cake) and good conversation. Eventually, time forced us to head for home. The weather may not have been spectacular, but it was very pleasant, warm, dry and cool enough to wander the gardens without overheating.
At present the house and gardens are off the market, however, they are struggling to make ends meet at present, so I guess it is only a matter of time before the place is sold. Barbara did advise that Ian* is now showing signs of improvement following his stroke earlier this year, he is regaining the power of speech, but still does not have movement down one side.
Once again, Barbara noted that the gardens were far busier on a clothes optional day than she would have expected on a "normal" Sunday. I did take a few pictures, if I get a chance and any of them are any good, I'll add them to this thread in the next day or so.
Have fun,
Ian.
