My daughter and I would like to open a nudist venue; do all your laundry including the clothes on your back while lounging in our coffee bar, relaxing with a good book or use our wifi or take advantage of our outside deck or tanning beds.

I like that.  Toss in your clothes and hang out naked until you are ready to go back on the street clean.   Of course the whole concept of clean clothes is un-nude.

In the US Congressional debate it has been pointed out that our Obamacare medical plan law includes a TAX on tanning beds which takes money almost exclusively from young women.   I'm not sure that tanning beds are good, but a TAX sounds wrong.

Many elderly either forgetfully wander about naked or do so intentionally. It would be easier to get away with it on a property like that.

I think we've hit upon an excellent idea.

Some of the largest tax margins in the country are on luxuries. Alcohol, cigarettes etc. Gasoline has a high tax even though it can be difficult to work without a car. Tanning beds are not a necessity and can be taxed at a higher rate because it's discretionary. Also, if abused, they eventually result skin cancer and drive up medical costs. Which now, thanks to the government and insurance markets, impacts the economy.

It's enough to make my head spin.

A naked launderette?  That's a sort of philosophical contradiction, I would submit, gentlemen!  Count me in for such a thing (launderette not philosophical contradiction) and by jove yes, a naturist retirement home!  Great for incontinence!  You wouldn't mess up any of your clothes!!!!!!!!!!! :D

John, I had you pegged as more of a philosophical contradicted than a launderette user. In fact liking the idea of a naked launderette confirms it, m'lud.

What is it about laundry shops?

Years ago there was a place (may still be there) over in a somewhat Bohemian, rougher area of town, that was called "Suds and Duds". You could have a BEER while waiting for the washer and/or dryer. I never went in but even if it had a bar or lounge chairs so you could converse or read a tome, having the additional benefit of being a naked venue would make it easier for washing "ALL" the soiled clothes. :)

Well, this idea of a retirement m home for nudists is something to think about.

Many Americans are retiring in south of the border, Mexico where a buck goes further. There are enclaves of 10's of thousands. A new thing is retirement places and assisted living down south. There is not much over-site in Mexico, people can get into neglectful situations. A good dependable home is of great value, consequently.

As a business, the labor and food is less, so the charges are less. The facility and care can be just as good, or better, there. A nudist setup might just go over. Maybe closer to the border where relatives can pop across and visit. Tropical and nude might be a good option for a place of work. Maybe better than running a clothing optional place up here. There are numerous places popping up that are smaller here. A smaller facility might be affordable to set up, where prices and labor is less and less red tape. A steady renter, instead of waiting for tourist season. Maybe a dozen beds, a community, would have enough interest by such a special group to be populated?

People just can't afford to retire in the USA, like bygone days and that is certainly worsening, eroding a time goes on.

Jus' sayin',

But, how do ya keep 'em in depends. By age 80, 90% of guys have an enlarged prostrate and various complications. Perhaps just nude areas for sunning, etc., instead of naturist freerun of the whole place....

Do ya hang out with peers, or move in with the kids as a choice when affordability and nakedness is at issue.

AND by golly, THAT is how ya get off topic!

back to the original article,  it's one of the best concentrations of truth on the subject I've seen in awhile.    And that point mentioned.  "Religious models that typically portray nudity as sin and prudishness as obedience to divine instructions." Is one I've especially had experience with.

I'd have to ask   "What divine instructions?"      Considering Isaiah 20 we have an example of divine instruction to one man to go naked for 3 years at a stretch.     That's the opposite.   We have Gen 3 where the layout of the original perfect divine plan of life for man was naked in paradise gardens.     All the instructions i can find from anything resembling a divine source are actually slanted toward nudity, not against it.    The against it mentality is all mans inventions based on erroneous reasoning.   It's the pharisee way of life,   invent yer own rules to live by and never mind if they violate God's rules.

And for sure;  isolating children from the sight of their own species natural form is definitely doing them much serious harm.  It really is akin to child abuse,  driving then to lust addictions and sometimes even crime.  But the world is so blind to what they're doing it's sickening to see it happen.
