After some early good weather in July, we have been saddled with the more typical mixed rainy/sunny weather.  However, I think another increment of Tanmanic incrementalism has been clocked up.  I've been doing a lot more around the house and garden naked of late where the weather is warm but inclement where my wife has not made comment and seemingly as been more tolerant.  That's not that at some point in any day she won't tell me to cover up but those moments are fewer and with less force.  So a good month for me.
We are now moving into August and September where the chances of good naked weather reduce by at least 50% and in October it's about how little clothing you can get away with rather than none at all!

I read about a heat wave upsetting Europe. Gotta be naked in a heat wave. Nothing else makes any sense.

It's been a stifling summer here in the Canadian west. Temperatures have been mostly in the upper 30s, with NO air conditioning in the house! Normals here for today are 12/24°C (54/75°F) but the forecast is calling for 36° (97°F). Over the year, temperatures here range from -45° to +42°C (-49° to 108°F), so we really shouldn't complain TOO much about the heat!

On the other hand, Lytton, in the province of British Columbia, burned to the ground after breaking the all-time Canadian record high three days in a row, nearing 50°C (122°F). That's way too warm, even nude... even for me.
I feel my best when naked in the world, especially in wide, open spaces, wherever and whenever possible.

Since 1989, the old normal, which reined in Tucson since records began, only occurs every few years. It has become just another on the list of extreme possibilities. Monsoon arrived late this year, but continues with odd local weather patterns, like localized severe storms that blow down "block walls", flooding, and last night on the other side of the Tucson Mountains they clocked 104 mph hurricane force winds.

Last year, for the first time ever, there was no monsoon, three puddley rains during over more than a year, so I'm enjoying all of the rain and even the subsequent weeds and water flows at Redington Pass to play in naked. The extremes are getting more extreme, between La Nina and El Nino, the arctic warming making the polar jet stream wobble, it has gotten plain goofy weird with heat, cold, rains, winds, all breaking records, not just here, but seemingly every place. We lost a lot of wild life this last year, so it will take a few years for the ecological balance to get back.

Nightwalker, that 122F is just way too much without air conditioning, although it could break one. I hope that it cools down in the evening 30F or more degrees. You can put wet cloth in front of fans and windows, stay naked, circulate air around a body. Here, warm water comes out of the tap, but a bath can help like a swimming pool. Hydrate and use shade. A drive in the car, or even bug out to higher elevations and lakes.

I noticed less severe climate change back east during our travels, but everything, I was told, was a little off. Bugs and invasive plants destroying trees and ecology, farmers loosing out from two months of Spring drought in Michigan.

I've been planning a trip to the northwest through California, but lots of free range hiking has been burning up and the smoke is a huge problem. The smoke in Colorado from the fires hundreds and over one thousand miles away was horrible as we went through. It hazed out lots of our nature photography and views. It is so weird to taste and get a dry throat from something burning so far away.

Some of the change has benefited naturism, like warn sunny days, but so much of it has been a been negative.

Crazy times, to be sure. We've also noticed changes in wildlife, most noticeably the birds eating our garden, to my wife's dismay. I finally realized why: extreme heat + no rain = no mosquitos! Normally you need to practically bathe in repellent here, but this whole summer so far I've maybe seen six. Not that I really miss them!

Which that I could say the same. They we're everywhere back east. I bought a hoody long sleeve Tshirt with a Vermont logo that protected me. Turtle Lake Resort in Michigan was "worse we've ever seen." Now with the monsoon rains and me living back in the city, I'm staying in close to sunset, and DF's place is Just a lousy place to outside. They wait and swarm in her back yard.
The world needs more bats. I'm thinking of building a bat shelter in my yard. I've been living free of them in the desert for too long.

Every night in the summer you can sit in our garden at dusk and watch the bats swooping through the garden from and to who knows where.  They are presumablu hoovering up airborne insects.  Whilst you sit you will probably get bitten by mosquitos too!! :(
Your description of smelling and experiencing haze from fires hundreds of miles away brings home the sheer scale of the fires in the US this summer.  We wish you all well over here in rainy Blighty.

I am looking back on the last month or so as a very naturist few weeks.  My wife's toleration level does seem to have gone up.  2 or 3 days ago I was cooking and pottering about the kitchen and she entered and didn't say a word.  At length she did tell me to 'cover up' and I refused on the grounds of being busy and hot.  That elicited no further protest for about another hour!
I have been a bit "casual" with my urination of late.  If I am gardening or outside naked and feel the urge, I just let go where I stand if it's the lawn or over the flowerbeds.
The feeling of freedom is palpable.  Don't have to stop doing what I'm doing to rush inside to a toilet.  I was mowing the lawn with our self propelling lawnmower the other day and just let fly as I walked behind it.  My legs got a bit wet, I have to say!
Am I an utter pervert? I think not, I'm just exercising one of the little freedoms that naturism allows.

Natural imperative! What animal worth kingly definition in its environment doesn't mark its territory? It is a part of some culture's spiritual bond and ritual with their homes.

I notice that when it is dry a lot and one uses the same location too frequently, urine embeds and causes that 'ol acidic stink. So, I spread the good word around. I used to keep the neighbor dogs away by pissing on my bushes along my trails and property boundaries.

This smaller urban yard doesn't yet have the facility to be a discrete outlet for the bouquet of urine. I have a friend with about 40 desert acres. She has been using a home made compost toilet for decades. When we visit, we are encouraged to pee where and when we like, as does she. It is in her mind, at a par with simple nudity, a natural function, not worthy of hiding, as we walk along the trails around her place. Her outdoor "shitter" has a setting for two to squat together, in a casual manner. Personally, I prefer to be alone for that one, to focus and get 'er done with efficiency. I don't like to see it.

The lawnmower thing seems kinda sloppy to my thinking. I was raised by my young peers to pride myself in my abilities to direct flow like marksmanship. These days the enlarged prostrate drip must be compensated for as well. I also prefer to stop and thoroughly enjoy the experience of relief.

Yup Nuduke, never piss into the wind. There's a Jerry Jeff song that shares that sentiment.

I'm with you on that one John.   Human urine is a boon for all green plants, including grass, shrubs, flowers, and trees.   If you always go in the same spot it can be too much of a good thing for that one spot so I spread it around.  A couple of weeks later you get a darker green spot on the lawn because that particular grass feels more "loved" and healthy.  I have also learned to piss while walking.  It makes a funny back and forth looping pattern on the ground.  Let he or she who never passes water be the first to complain.

Ever since I was a boy I have enjoyed pissing over a cliff, watching my water fall a long way down.  That may be an instinctive manly pleasure.

I had a lady friend in Santa Fe who always went outside to pee on her gardens.   On her back yard garden during the day, and in the front yard at night.

It's the most natural way of recycling our body waste back to the plant world.  It should be generally accepted for men and women, as it is and has always been in less "civilized" countries.   Only in cities with dense populations would the quantity of urine overwhelm their concrete gutters.  Only when there is a lot of urine in one place, and it doesn't have occasional rain does it cause any smell.

I don't know about instinctive, but it is still fun to pee over a cliff t this day. It reminds me of Junior High pissing contests in the boy's room.

I like the composting toilets and humanure concepts. Even cities might be able to handle some of that.

In dry Arizona, when the world doesn't get rinsed with rain, the smell of urine can stick around to the point that you certainly don't need a dog's snoot to notice it.

In our previous house which was in an urban area, we used to have lots of urban foxes.  You couldn't drive home in the area after about 8 or 9 pm without one or two of the brush-tailed scavengers crossing the road between foraging in bins and the like.
We had at least two foxes that crossed our garden on their nightly beat - you could see the pathways worn around particular gaps in bushes, under fencing and hedging and you could smell them, not to mention tread in their leavings.  In an effort to humanely inhibit this pesky behaviour, I read that if you urinated around your garden, it acted for foxes in the same way as a competitor fox marking territory, which would tend to get the foxes to find a new route for their evening forays.  So this is what I did.  I marked my territory frequently for several months sprinkling my micturitions around the fox runs and then the borders of my garden.
This did seem to work as the little paths became obviously less used and weeds began to grow there and the incidence of fox poo virtually disappeared.
Now I live in rural parts you hardly ever see a fox.  Strangely topsy turvy.  I suspect they've gravitated to towns because the effort of stalking and chasing a rabbit is far less attractive than an easy meal from a discarded kebab or MacDonald's!!!

Foxes addicted to fast food! Great, I can imaging them waddling around after being supersized.

It definitely worked for the local dogs in Tortolita. I used to piss with my dog during walks around the yard. It was a pack thing for us.

It can keep other wildlife away that you might want to see like a deer, wild cat. etc.

That was fast! August is over!
We've been to Redington to play and relax in the waters. DF took off to Minnesota for 10 days. I did get a lone Redington Day while she was gone.

We took a ride up Mt. Lemmon one day to inspect the damage from the 2020 fires. It wasn't so bad as expected. Lots of what burnt before went down again, but that is brush growth and it is coming back after the extreme rains that we have been having. It was a great relief to see. I did some work on our special secret spot up there to ward off traffic. Mostly lugging around dead trees and branches onto the trail strategically.

It has been hot and the rains continue, but most of the favorite trails are doing well. We cruised the east side after Mt. Lemmon, visiting some of the old stomping grounds. Mostly an 80 mile nude cruise. There is a story coming about naked lunch with people around.

Nude around our homes. DF is settled into, taking well to a naked retirement, that is spending more time at home and not having to get up get dressed and go to work.

I felt that too - the summer just crashed out a couple of weeks ago!  Feeling the SAD rising.

That sound like us!  We are hopeless at getting up in the mornings nowadays often breakfasting in bed and reading/doing emails etc till mid morning.  As a result we go to bed late and regret it the following morning so we stay in bed a bit longer.....!!
I'm glad she is finding retirement good (and it is!!) because hopefully we will all have a decade or two or even three of it if we retain our health.
