There were a few topfree peers there that could influence her. There was conversation about, my first time at a hot springs and how I took the plunge, how I felt initially, etc. It is very healthy to hear other peers, people that you don't think that you'll see again and frequency of contact with the situation to break down the barriers of clothing. All of this was there at these hotsprings. It is a good place for a first time. Oh yea, there is hiking at reasonable grade, an easy wide trail and privacy.

This year the summer solstice (aka: Naked Hiking Day) is on June 20th.

That will be on a Tuesday this year. If the heat has abated, it’s been a warm June this year, I may try an early hike.

It got up to 108 yesterday.  :(

Depending on where you are living this may occur on Tuesday of Wednesday. The sun reaches it northern most point on:

    Wednesday, June 21, 12:24 A.M. EDT
    Tuesday, June 20, 11:24 P.M. CDT
    Tuesday, June 20, 10:24 P.M. MDT
    Tuesday, June 20, 9:24 P.M. PDT

of course in Britain (Greenwich mean) that is 5 hrs. ahead of EDT and 8 hrs. ahead of me. The sun doesn't care what time it is.
So just decide which day and time you want to embrace, rip 'em off and take off! ;D

Nothing that is a cooler hike close by that is CO friendly. If I do one I'll have to leave pre-dawn.

Predawn? I would do an overnight. After driving more than an hour through town and up Mt. Lemon, and hiking an hour to get away from people, and then the hike back being all uphill at high elevation, it is more fun to stretch it out over two days. Maybe the 20th AND the 21st to cover the bases.

I always like to be at the River Park Henge and watch the light creep up and pop through the hole, play music and give thanks in a circle with spiritual folks, but it is hot there in the summer. I can give thanks under a pinetree, soaking my feet in the creek.

The one I'm thinking of is inside a National Recreation Area.
I'll have to check on the rules for over nighting inside the park.

I like the idea!

Short night, earliest sunrise. Could be out hiking three hours before the earliest hikers arrive, with a good smash of sunlight first thing in the morning...or alarm.

The Lake Mead website says that backcountry camping is allowed but you must be 1/2 mile off the nearest road with a 15 day limit. If you are car camping, that’s one thing, packing in enough water for a long stay is a challenge if you are not on the lake. The nearest water source I know of out there is about 5 miles (as the raven flies) and a little over 7 by hike from the spot I stopped on my last hike.

The forecast for today is 105º, Sat. 109º and Tues.-Wed. (solstice) 115º.

I’m considering getting to the trail at around 4:30-5:00 am on naked hiking day.
Temp should be in the upper 80’s and allow me to hike 3-4 hours before I have to jump outta-th-pot and into the fire. :D

Seems to do be doing this lately. June is not supposed to be this HOT!

Duane

I'm fleeing to Oregon and going to the beach next week.   Weather there is predicted to be sunny and low 60s.  Naked is legal but uncommon in most of Oregon.  I may challenge it a few times.

We'll have to put off trading weeks until later.

Hey, Bob, pics, etc. please.

The temps are going way high near the records next week. 114F 115F, ick. I'm planning to pack up and hang on Mt. Lemmon around some water.
